Premium ‘Alpin Card’ Ski Regions Are Ready For The Winter Season

The three premium ski regions Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun are well equipped for the winter season 2021/22. The ski season has already started on the Kitzsteinhorn. The Ski ALPIN CARD ticket association enables extensive fun on the slopes in all three ski regions. Unique this winter are the Junior XPLORE CARD and a navigation app that digitally navigates winter sports enthusiasts through the ski areas and to the highlights there.
While skiing was ostensibly reserved for locals last winter, it is again possible for guests this winter. The ski season on the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun has already started. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See will follow on November 26, 2021. “Thanks to the heavy snowfall in the last few days, we started the ski season on October 9th as planned. A lot of positive feedback from our guests shows the enthusiasm for the early start of the season and the first winter sports offer on the Kitzsteinhorn. We are very pleased that skiing will again be possible on a larger scale this year, ”explains Ing. Norbert Karlsböck, CEO of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG.
The ticket for all three premium ski regions is the Ski ALPIN CARD, which opens up 121 cable cars and lifts and up to 408 kilometers of slopes. Dr. Erich Egger, spokesman for the Salzburger Seilbahnwirtschaft and board member of Schmittenhöhebahn AG, is delighted with the successful continuation of the card network, which was launched in winter 2019/20: “The longing for nature and sporting experiences is unbroken. With the Ski ALPIN CARD, we have created one of the strongest ticket associations in the Alpine region. The range of slopes and experiences in the density and diversity of the map is unique. "The three ski regions have gained a lot of experience in dealing with the pandemic in the past season:" Our measures have taken effect, there were none with the cable cars single corona case.
Unique offer for young people: Junior XPLORE CARD
Because they are frequent skiers, they will be offered an extra benefit this winter: Young winter sports enthusiasts up to 19 years of age will receive the Junior XPLORE CARD every Saturday from November 27th, 2021. The Super Saturday ticket costs only 13 euros and is - like the Ski ALPIN CARD - valid in all three premium ski regions. "The next generation of skiers is particularly important to us," emphasizes Isabella Dschulnigg-Geissler, Managing Director of Saalbacher Bergbahnen GmbH. "That is why we want to offer young skiers the opportunity to go skiing at particularly favorable conditions and to fully enjoy the highlights of the three premium ski regions."
Digitally through all three ski areas: the new "ALPIN CARD Navigator" app
“The app is the map”: New this winter is the free ALPIN CARD Navigator app, which navigates skiers visually and audio-based through the three premium ski regions using a digital piste map. Positioning, route suggestions in different degrees of difficulty, times and destinations: the new app plays a lot and is available for iOS and Android.
Lots of space in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn
The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, also known as the “Home of Lässig”, is one of the largest ski areas in Austria: 70 cable cars and lifts open up 270 kilometers of slopes here. The Skicircus also has floodlit slopes, snow parks, a great freeride offer as well as numerous snow trails and fun slopes. 60 ski huts invite you to take a break. New in winter 2021/22 in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is the ski connection from the Bernkogel (slope 146) to the valley station of the A1 + A2 Schattberg X-press.
The panoramic and family ski area - the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See
In addition to the breathtaking view of thirty 3,000-meter peaks and the idyllic mountain town of Zell am See, the Schmittenhöhe ski area also scores with a high-quality skiing and enjoyment experience. Numerous piste highlights such as Schmidolin's children's world, Austria's only Audi ski run or the five extra-long valley runs with over 5,200 meters of altitude and perfect ski-in-ski-out to the power of 3 guarantee a super comfortable skiing experience. The new panorama restaurant with a unique view and the four enjoyment stations with sunny terraces and fine Pinzgau delicacies ensure a delightful stop-off.
Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area: 100% guaranteed snow from autumn to spring
The advantage of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area in Zell am See-Kaprun is obvious: skiing is possible there as early as October. Snow is guaranteed well into spring. The glacier ski area is also characterized by its close proximity to the Hohe Tauern National Park. A special highlight is the "3K K-onnection", which connects the center of Kaprun directly to the Kitzsteinhorn via the Maiskogel family ski area, which enables a valley run from the glacier to the center of the village.
