Peter Engler Takes Over The Management Of Bergbahnen Splugen Tambo

The Board of Directors of Bergbahnen Splügen-Tambo AG has elected Peter Engler as the new Managing Director. Peter Engler will gradually take over the business from March 2023. With Peter Engler, a manager with many years of experience in the strategic orientation and operational management of tourism companies could be won.

Peter Engler is a specialist in tourism companies and infrastructure with roots in the canton. From 2012 - 2021 he was a member of the management board and managing director of Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG. Before that, he was Head of Logistics and a member of the Executive Board at Davos Klosters Bergbahnen AG. Engler is an all-rounder who supports with a lot of practical experience in the management, development and reorganization of tourism and public companies and infrastructures. As a politician and member of the Graubünden tourism interest group, he is also interested in economic and social issues as well as global challenges.

Since Peter Engler is currently acting as acting CEO of the Flury Foundation in Schiers, he will gradually join the company over the coming months. He is employed on a mandate and manages the business on an interim basis until a suitable and long-term successor is found.

In the Rheinwald, especially in the tourist center of Splügen, various medium and long-term tourism projects are being planned. These are an opportunity for the entire tourism region and the basis for the further development of the mountain railways. The company is to be renewed and its attractiveness promoted in order to be able to survive in the market in the future.

In addition to some adjustments that need to be implemented promptly, there is strategic work to be done. The existing infrastructure and the offer should be analyzed in cooperation and ideas developed. Peter Engler is entrusted with the task of leading the company into the future together with management, the board of directors and other local partners.

The board of directors will be led by Sascha Bigger and Christian Simmen in a co-presidency. The Board of Directors is now beginning the search for a new member and Chairman of the Board of Directors and plans to be able to present a new personality by the Annual General Meeting in autumn 2023.
