The best Nordic all-rounders in the world will meet again this winter in Ramsau am Dachstein. From December 15th to 16th, the combiners will stop here with two competitions each. The Austrian combined athletes around Johannes Lamparter and Lisa Hirner want to be at the top of the podium in the exciting combined competitions with jumping from the Hillsize 98 ski jump and cross-country skiing competitions in the pursuit. With Paul Walcher and the World Cup medalist Franz Josef Rehrl, two Ramsau local heroes are at the start. There are a few new things this year: On Friday at 1:45 p.m. the men will first go to the 10 kilometer mass start, then at 5:00 p.m. there will be a night jump under floodlights. The cross-country skiing region of Ramsau am Dachstein has long since established itself as a paradise for Nordic skiing. It is not for nothing that the place is considered the “training center of the world elite”. The best athletes from all over the world compete here year after year, and many of them have already completed numerous jumps and kilometers of cross-country ski trails in Ramsau during their preparation for the season. Last weekend, the three-day “Nordic Winter Opening”, one of the largest opening events for hobby cross-country skiers in Austria, took place.

With a total of 220 kilometers of trails in Ramsau am Dachstein, cross-country skiers will always find the perfect trail. 125 kilometers are dedicated to classic cross-country skiing and 95 kilometers to skating - freshly groomed every day. And new this year: A little southwest of the World Cup stadium, in the area of ​​the reservoir, the “Kalis Cross Park” will soon be opening its doors for the first time. Cross-country skiers of all ages can explore a varied technical course here. It includes simple elements such as slalom, wave track or archway as well as steep curves or - probably the biggest challenge - a ski jump.
