Nikwax Snow Show Fundraiser Raises $2300 For POW

With the help of enthusiastic, outdoor-loving, conservation-minded OR show-goers, Nikwax® raised $2300 for Protect Our Winters at Snow Show. For the second year in a row, the global leader in aftercare products for outdoor performance gear and apparel offered a happy hour to rival all happy hours: $10,000 worth of gear donated by over 30 brands, an insulated pint glass with 10 raffle tickets, and beverage refills, all for a $10 donation. Days 1 & 2 of the OR Snow Show saw folks clogging the aisles around the Nikwax booth at happy hour to see if their ticket was drawn.

When asked, “What’s the most fun place on the show floor” by SNEWS, Lynn Jones from Colorado Gear Lab said, “Nikwax. Their raffle has lots of awesome prizes, tickets carry over, the beer is great, and I always win. Did I mention beer?”

“We’re so proud to be a part of an industry where over 30 brands came together to help us raise funds for Protect Our Winters this past OR + Snow Show,” said Heidi Allen, VP of Marketing at Nikwax NA. “One of the major areas of sustainability focus for Nikwax is climate change. This is why we’ve worked to completely offset our carbon emissions all the way back to our founding over 40 years ago. But we can only do so much alone. POW is out there working on behalf of us all in the outdoor and ski industry, and we enthusiastically support their work. We aim to repeat this fundraiser every year and send out a call to all the other brands in the hall to help Protect Our Winters.”

Special thanks goes to participating partners: 686, Aqua Quest, Big Agnes, Black Diamond, Burton, Darn Tough, Deviation, Farm to Feet, Flylow, Helly Hansen, Hillsound, HOWL, Julbo, Kinco, Lems, Lib Tech, Marmot, Matador, MiiR, Minus33, MSR, Neff, NOSO, Ortlieb, Ortovox, Osprey, POW Gloves, Scarpa, SealSkinz, SOG, Stanley, Stio, Sunday Afternoons, Tender Corp, Tentsile, Therm-a-Rest.
