Nikwax Rope Wash & Rope Proof Twin Pack Now Available

Dirty climbing rope and harness? Nikwax comes to the rescue!

It's essential to keep your rope and climbing harness clean in order to maintain performance (pretty crucial) as well as extending longevity (good for the pocket and the environment). When it comes to washing dirty climbing rope (dynamic and static) and harnesses Nikwax's Rope Wash & Rope Proof takes on the task easily and effectively.

Don't be tempted to use normal detergent as this will damage and weaken the rope fibres. Instead, treat your rope and harness with the correct dosage of Nikwax Rope Wash and let it work its magic. As well as effectively cleaning it revitalises water repellency. Once finished there's no need to dry before then treating with Rope Proof. This adds essential water repellency, maintains the rope's strength and reduces water absorption when used in wet weather, reducing additional weight gain. Our 'how to use' guide is below.

Rope Wash and Rope Proof contain elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to the individual fibres, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. They stretch and move with the fibres so they work more efficiently and last longer, without changing the look or feel of the rope or harness. What's more, in keeping with Nikwax's eco pledge the treatments are water-based, environmentally safe and non-flammable.

Finally, don't neglect climbing shoes. Treat using Nikwax Sandal & Sports Shoe Wash to freshen, deodorise and extend the lifespan of your climbing shoes. Suitable for use on all non-waterproof footwear, insoles and footbeds to help to maintain performance and comfort levels. Available priced at just £3 from Cotswold Outdoors.
