New Ski France Residence L’Oree du Bois Opens in La Rosière, France
Ski France is delighted to announce the launch of its newest residence, L’Orée du Bois: six chalet-apartmentslocated in a peaceful part of La Rosière, at the crossroads of the Orée district and the Vieux Village. Its name, which translates as “Edge of the Woods,” reflects the tranquil setting just a few minutes from the resort centre, offering peace alongside easy access to local amenities.
Designed in a traditionalwayusing local materials, the chalet-apartments blendharmoniously with theirsurroundingsand offerpanoramic views over the Tarentaise Valley and surrounding peaks. A lift serving all five floors ensures convenience for all guests.
Accommodation
L’Orée du Bois features six spacious chalet apartments, designed for families and groups. Apartments range from threeto seven-bedroom layouts, sleeping eight to 14 guests. All are equipped with:

- Comfortable bedrooms with quality bedding
- Ski lockers with boot dryers
- Large screen television and free Wi-Fi
Twoof the chalet-apartments feature private jacuzzis, while two others include electric fireplaces, adding an extra touch of comfort. Beds are made on arrival, with towels and linen provided, andend-of-stay cleaning is included.

L’Orée du Bois is offered on a self-cateredbasis, giving families the flexibility and independence to set their own schedule. Fully equipped kitchens make it easy to prepare children’s meals at convenient times, cater for fussy eaters, and enjoy relaxed family dinners together. Self-catering also provides the freedom to avoid busy restaurants and spend more time enjoying the mountains.
Skiing and activities
La Rosière sits at 1,850 metres, in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley and at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park. The resort is part of the Espace San Bernardo, a Franco-Italian ski area where guests can ski across the border in a single day. The 152 km of pistes cater to all levels, from Mont Valaisan’s challenging slopes for the adventurous, to gentle beginner runs and dedicated children’s zones.
Beyond skiing, La Rosière is packed with family activities. Options include sledging, ice skating, snowshoeing, paragliding, and paintball, alongside wellness facilities for parents in need of some downtime. The resort also celebrates its Alpine heritage, with fun cultural nods such as the St. Bernard dog, the Alpine rescue icon.
