New For The 2018-19 Winter - Ski Weekends Chalet Guests Have Full Use Of The Ski Caddie....Hmmmmm

For skiers who want to switch from their piste skis to their powder skis at the top of an untouched powder run or wish there was someone to help lug them (and the kids') skis around resort.

A new drone based service has been launched by the tour operator, Ski Weekends, to help skiers carry their multiple quivers around the mountain with them and change skis at any time. It also has uses for the kids, so parents of young children no longer need to struggle to the lifts early in the morning.

The Ski Weekends product team have worked tirelessly this winter developing and trialling the Ski Caddie concept and they are now pleased to announce its December 2018 launch. Ski Caddie is a Professional UAV Drone Aircraft programmed to shadow skiers around the slopes within a 100m radius with their chosen ski collection aboard. Each drone comes with a unique wristband - worn by the guest - which serves as both a tracking device and a remote control enabling them to summon the Ski Caddie to their precise location. Furthermore, the Ski Caddie can carry up to 4 pairs of skis at a time and has up to a 7.5 hour battery life, meaning it can be used all day, switching between skis, without having to return to the chalet.

The Ski Caddie will launch (quite literally) in time for Ski Weekends' first holiday departures in December 2018 with a total of 24 drones operating across the French resorts next winter (that's two drones for every 12 chalets).

Managing Director of Ski Weekends, Dan Fox, commented: “I’ve been trialling the Ski Caddie concept out myself this winter and I must say, it’s made a huge difference to my day. You don’t even need to carry your skis to the lift anymore, it drops them off at the start of the first run, normally a warm up on the piste with race carvers. Then swap to freeride off-piste skis and hit the powder, before it delivers my all mountain favourites for the run back at the end of the day. We are even testing a small drinks rack so that you can do après ski wherever you like. We don't mean to drone on, but Ski Caddie is going to transform the ski holiday as we know it”

Of course dear boy, of course....
