New Axess Alpha Gate 700: From Initial Concept To Full Installation In Less Than 12 Months

The latest access control solution for ski resorts went from initial concept and design through production to final installation in less than a year – impressive proof of our commitment to innovation, teamwork, and efficiency. The brand-new Axess ALPHA GATE 700 was implemented as a Gold Edition for Ski Arlberg, Austria. Nearly 90 units were installed in Lech Zürs and Warth in record time.

Setting new standards – technically and visually

At the NSAA Mountain Tech Symposium 2024, Oliver Suter, CEO of Designa Axess Industries Holding, encountered access systems that seemed like they were from another era: mechanical, intimidating, and cluttered with visible components. Functional – but not inviting.

“Why should something as ubiquitous as ski access feel cold, industrial… and even a little unfriendly?” Oliver Suter wondered. This question was the starting point for the idea that led to our new Axess ALPHA GATE 700 – designed to fundamentally change the ski resort access experience.

Together with our outstanding hardware development team and our external designer, we embarked on a journey that many considered unrealistic – but which we believed in: From the initial concept to full installation in less than 12 months.

World premiere at Ski Arlberg: Nearly 90 new Axess ALPHA GATE 700s installed in record time

The first ALPHA GATE 700s were manufactured at our production facility in Innsbruck, Austria. These first units were produced with the utmost precision and passion as a Gold Edition for Ski Arlberg.

During the last weekend of November, our dedicated team installed nearly 90 Axess ALPHA GATE 700 gates in Lech Zürs and Warth in record time. This was made possible thanks to an exceptional team working under true alpine conditions: knee-deep snow, icy winds, bright sunshine, and pure mountain energy.

With their elegant white and gold finish, the gates blend seamlessly into the alpine landscape and the unique atmosphere of the ski resorts, while simultaneously elevating the entire guest experience to a new level. They prove that access control can be fast, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing without compromising on performance.
