Mt. Hood Meadows To Hold 'Provide To Ride' Event Jan. 9 Benefit For FISH Food Bank

The holidays may be drawing to a close, but it's still the season of giving up at Mt. Hood Meadows, where the resort will be holding its annual Provide to Ride Event on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to benefit Hood River's FISH Food Bank.

Guests who bring in two hams or 24 cans of food to the resort Tuesday morning will receive a free lift ticket to ride at Meadows that same day. Alternatively, guests can purchase online in advance a specially-priced $40 lift ticket for that day, $35 of which Meadows will donate to FISH.

Season Pass holders who want to contribute to the cause can bring their donation and a friend to the resort Tuesday morning and then give their lift ticket to their friend to ski or ride that day.

Meadows President and General Manager Greg Pack is hoping for even better results than last year's inaugural Provide to Ride event, which saw more than two tons of food and $33,000 donated to FISH.

"We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of our guests during last year's Provide to Ride event," he said. "FISH is a fantastic organization and with the significant snow in the forecast this weekend, we are hopeful for another great turnout for this year's event."

FISH Food Bank is a nonprofit based in Hood River that serves people in need of food assistance in Hood River County and Mosier, and is a partner agency of the Oregon Food Bank. For more information, visit fish-food-bank.com.
