Mount St. Louis Moonstone To Build Canada's First 8- Seater Chairlift

Mount St. Louis Moonstone (MSLM) proudly announces the construction of Canada's first high-speed 8-seater chairlift. With Doppelmayr Canada as a partner, MSLM confirms its willingness to invest and its commitment to improving the guest experience in the ski area. For the first time in Canada, skiers and snowboarders will be able to experience a D-Line 8-seater chairlift with Doppelmayr Direct Drive from the 2023/24 winter season.

Mount St. Louis Moonstone is one of the largest family-run ski resorts in Canada. It was founded in 1964 by the Austrian alpine skier Josl Huter. Today the area has 36 different ski slopes as well as 8 chairlifts and 4 people movers. Known as a family-friendly ski resort, MSLM prides itself on catering to everyone from novice skiers and snowboarders to the most advanced athlete.

"With a special L-shaped drive station, the lift will be unique compared to other chairlift systems in North America," says operations manager Andre Huter. It will lead from the Moonstone valley station to the highest elevation.

The D-Line sets new standards in terms of comfort, safety and quality for the guest and is one of the most technically advanced cable cars. The 8-seater chairlift will be designed for the highest capacity in North America and will be able to transport 4,250 people per hour. The new Adventure 8 will feature heated seats, child-friendly restraining bars with center footrests, and a height-adjustable conveyor belt for young skiers and snowboarders. It replaces the Adventure Express.

“My family remains dedicated to providing the best skiing and snowboarding experience in Ontario. For our guests, this further development means more time on the slopes instead of queuing at the ski lift,” explains General Manager Robert Huter. Efficient, fast and safe - in MSLM a new driving quality is announced for the 23/24 season.
