Moguls Skier Hannah Kearney Joins FIS Council

Hannah Kearney (*1986) was named to the FIS Council as one of the two Athletes' Commission representatives at the FIS Congress in 2018 in Costa Navarino (GRE).

Kearney (USA) is a former moguls and dual moguls skier and represents Freestyle Skiing on the FIS Athletes' Commission. She participated in three Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Vancouver and Sochi and took home the gold medal in the 2010 moguls event and a bronze medal performance in the 2014 edition of the Games. In her 13-year career she won 46 World Cups, eight World Championship medals, and a record-breaking 10 crystal globes.

Kearney joined the FIS Athlete’s Commission in 2017 and elected Vice Chair.

“As the only retired athlete in the room after the election in 2017 during the conversation about the role of the Vice-Chair, I thought I could help Konstantin Shad (current Chairman) and all of the other athletes who will be busy in the coming months as they prepare for the Olympic Winter Games. I am happy to take on more responsibility so that they can focus on their athletic goals,” said Kearney of her role within the Athlete’s Commission.

Kearney graduated from Westminster College, with a degree in Marketing, just days before her election to the FIS Council.
