Limbergbahn Saalbach - It's Heading Into The Home Straight

Almost endless slopes, snow-covered slopes and a fascinating landscape. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn offers skiing fun at the highest level and, with around 270 kilometers of slopes, is considered one of the largest and most attractive ski areas in Austria and the world.
But even a top destination has to constantly develop in order to always stay where it is. For this purpose, the fixed 4-seater Limberg chairlift from 1994 in Saalbach will be replaced this year by a modern and contemporary 8-seater chairlift.
The new building will significantly increase the conveying capacity and comfort on the sunny side of the Schattberg. Long waiting and travel times will soon be a thing of the past.
With the new valley station location, the cable car system could be significantly extended and a generous slope area could also be generated. At the same time, the building has dual use. A technology center with a workshop, office, storage and space for several snow groomers will be created in the basement.
The heating energy for the valley station is provided by a heat pump with depth sensors. The spacious PV system on the south-facing facade supplies the valley station building directly with its own green electricity. The idea of sustainability is also reflected in the design of the new cable car system as a year-round cable car. If necessary, the 8SBK Limbergbahn offers the option of comfortably transporting up to 5 downhill bikes per chair in summer.
Despite the adverse initial weather conditions in early April, construction is ahead of schedule. Completion or collausion is scheduled for November 2023.
