Kitzbühel Alps Promotes Summer Highlights

A puzzle tour on the GOASberg , a guided alpine pasture hike in the Kelchsau , Austria's longest ultra trail - the KAT100 Miles , or a herb hike with the KräuterAnderl . The 4 tourism associations of the Kitzbüheler Alpen have come up with a lot of new things for the summer in order to be able to offer guests and locals alike a varied time.

The 4 tourism associations Brixental, Hohe Salve, PillerseeTal and St. Johann in Tirol have been working together successfully as "Kitzbüheler Alpen" tourism associations for several years. In addition to projects such as the guest card, the joint website and countless other projects, those responsible have also considered many highlights for summer 2021 so that there is no boredom.

Guided hikes and bike tours

The PillerseeTal tourist office, for example, offers a very special guided culinary e-mountain bike tour . This delicious tour takes place every Tuesday from June to September, which locals can also take part in - delicacies from the first-class KochArt establishments are included in the price of € 49.00. The TVB Hohe Salve invites you on a journey of discovery of a different kind. The alpine pasture hike starts every Friday in Kelchsau , where you can learn a lot about milk and cheese. The Brixental Tourist Office always offers a combination of bike & hike on Thursdays ... first you cycle to the Brechhornhaus and from there you continue on foot to the summit. The weekly guided herb hike with the KräuterAnderl in the St. Johann region focuses on the active experience of nature, not the altitude difference .

Excursion tips for families

But the four KAM tourism associations are also well prepared for families . The GOASberg puzzle tour in Kirchberg , “The Secret of the Steinberg King” in PillerseeTal, the “RITTERspielplatz” in Itter or the new “Detective Trail” in Oberndorf are just waiting for families who like to be out in nature and want to explore the area in a playful way . With the many different options, the right leisure activity can be found for every taste.

Summer events in the Kitzbühel Alps

Although the event calendar in summer 2021 is not as full as in previous years, there are also some events in the Kitzbühel Alps this summer that are worth visiting. While the traditional pretzel soup festival in Wörgl in September focuses entirely on the eponymous dish, the “Balance on the Mountain” days in the St. Johann region focus on yoga combined with easy hikes. The 32nd Int. Libro Ballon Cup takes place in Brixental. Over 30 teams from several countries meet in Kirchberg to hold their competitions in the air. The KAT100 Miles in PillerseeTal is also about the ultimate competition of a completely different kind. The toughest trail runners will again compete in Austria's longest, ultra trail run at the beginning of August.

Nothing stands in the way of a varied summer “at home” thanks to countless leisure activities!

The Kitzbühel Alps - these are the four holiday regions Hohe Salve, Brixental, St. Johann in Tirol and PillerseeTal with their 20 villages. These include well-known names such as Hopfgarten, Kirchberg, St. Johann in Tirol and Fieberbrunn. One of the destination's absolute strengths is its extensive range of options for families and sports enthusiasts.
