Keystone Resort Implements Improvements In Parking Management For 2018-19 Winter Season

Keystone Resort today announced it will implement strategic changes to improve the overall parking experience for guests, effective beginning with the 2018-19 winter season. The overall plan will preserve and maximize the resort’s parking capacity while also expediting incoming traffic by improved payment processes and traffic control assistance.

“Keystone Resort will continue to offer free parking options every day of the season, including up-front parking for vehicles with families and four or more passengers in our River Run Gondola lot,” said Geoff Buchheister, vice president and general manager of Keystone Resort. “Through a new seamless payment process, we will ultimately improve our parking and transportation experience for guests.”

Keystone’s River Run Gondola lot, formerly referred to as the Montezuma lot, will remain free every day of the season. Guests are encouraged to carpool, with vehicles containing families (any number of passengers as long as at least one child younger than 13 is present) as well as four or more passengers granted priority access to first-come, first-serve, up-front parking in the River Run Gondola lot.

All paid parking lots at Keystone will now allow for payment to be made via Passport Parking kiosks or the Passport Parking app, removing entry gates and providing a more fluid experience for guests entering paid parking lots. All daily fees will be effective between 8 a.m.-2 p.m., with free parking available in all lots beginning at 2 p.m. Overnight parking will be available for $20 in all paid parking lots from 2-6 a.m., and is in addition to any day rate.

Servicing River Run Village, both the Hunki Dori and Gold Bug parking lots will be a daily fee of $30. At Keystone’s Mountain House base area, parking options will begin at $10. Mountain House East E (formerly Pika) will be $10, Mountain House West A, Mountain House West B and Mountain House East D will be $20.

On weekends and holiday timeframes, free parking will also be available at the North Shuttle and Powerline Shuttle lots. Guests can then utilize Keystone’s free shuttle system from these lots, with both locations offering a less than five minute bus ride to access the mountain.
