July Heats Up At Copper Mountain With New REI Music On The Mountain Campout

Copper Mountain’s Raised on Colorado summer continues to heat up in July with exciting new offerings including REI Adventure Station programming; returning crowd pleasers such as the 4th Annual Mac & Cheese Fest and the Under Armour Mountain Running Series; and the local’s favorite weekly gatherings that include craft beer, music, fireworks, and yoga.

“Copper Mountain is the place to be this summer,” said Jesse True, senior vice president of Copper Mountain. “We’ve got something for everyone – including families, music lovers, yogis, foodies and athletes. The experiences we have on tap represent the best of our region and now, more than ever, there are so many reasons to visit Copper, and to stay and play like a local on any given weekend.”

JULY EVENTS

  • Copper Mountain Music Festival: On July 7-8, Copper Mountain’s music scene heats up as bluegrass and Americana artists from around the country come to perform as part of the 4th annual Copper Mountain Music Festival presented by Elevation Outdoors. Artists such as Gasoline Lollipops, Black Lillies, Langhorne Slim & The Law and many others offer free performances throughout the weekend.
  • NEW! REI’s Music on the Mountain Campout: REI and Subaru teamed up to host the inaugural Music on the Mountain Campout at Copper Mountain on July 7. Participants will be treated to an overnight experience featuring exquisitely catered meals, private performances, interactive wilderness education sessions, sunrise yoga and more.
  • Under Armour Mountain Running Series: Trail running enthusiasts will take to Copper Mountain for a stop in the Under Armour Mountain Running Series Presented by GORE-TEX Products on July 14. With distances from 5k to 50k, runners of all abilities can experience the thrill of running through the beautiful Rocky Mountain environment.
  • NEW! Copper Mountain Summer Concert Series: The Copper Summer Concert Series Presented by 10 Barrel Brewing Co. returns on July 14 with a free performance from DJ Logic, a turntablist who’s widely credited for fusing jazz into hip hop realms and collaborating with the likes of John Mayer, Ben Harper, Mos Def, The Roots and others.
  • Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride: On July 14, Copper will host the 30th anniversary of the Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride. Recognized as one of the premier cycling events in the nation, the Triple Bypass takes cyclists on a gorgeous tour through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Evergreen to Avon. Riders will make their way through Copper before traveling up Vail Pass. This year, riders have the option to participate in the Single Bypass, a 30 mile ride from Copper over Vail Pass and finishing in Avon.
  • Children’s Hospital Courage Classic: More than 2,000 cyclists will descend on Copper July 20-22 for the 28th annual Children’s Hospital Courage Classic. With varying course distances and difficulty, riders have the option to participate in a 10 mile family ride all the way up to an 80 mile challenging loop, all while raising money for Children’s Hospital Colorado. In 2017, over $2.8 million was raised from the Courage Classic.
  • Mac & Cheese Fest: Rounding out the month of July is the 4th annual Mac & Cheese Fest July 28-29, where restaurants from all over Summit County and beyond bring their cheesiest, most creative concoction to the table in hopes of earning the coveted title of “Best Mac & Cheese.” In addition to indulging in these comfort classics, live music, magic shows, eating contests and face painting will take place throughout the weekend, making it the perfect time for families to visit.

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

  • NEW! Weekday Warrior Activity Pass: From now until the end of summer, guests who spend $30 at Copper between Monday-Thursday can turn their receipt into Guest Services for a free Weekday Warrior Activity Pass for same-day use. The Weekday Warrior Activity Pass is valid for the Woodward Copper WreckTangle, Rocky Mountain Coaster, rock climbing, go-karts, bumper boats, hydrobikes, and mini golf.
  • NEW! REI Adventure Station at Copper Mountain: In addition to the July 7 Music on the Mountain Campout, the REI Adventure Station is offering an array of unique outdoor education classes for all interests, including Ales and Astronomy, Lunch at the Summit: Copper Peak, Colorado Summit Hikes: Jacque Peak, and Summer Mountain Mixology.
  • Date Night Out: Every Friday and Saturday, parents are invited to take advantage of Kids Night Out so they can enjoy Copper’s Raised on Colorado festivities. Parents get three free hours of childcare with the purchase of $30 or more at Copper dining or retail locations.
  • Brews and Tunes: Brews and Tunes brings locals and guests together to enjoy craft beers and live music in the village every Friday night.
  • Copper Campfire & Fireworks: The whole family is encouraged to gather round the fire at the weekly Copper Campfire and Fireworks on Saturday nights while roasting s’mores and taking in the sights and sounds of summer in the Rocky Mountains.
  • Mountain Yoga: Reset and recharge on Sundays with weekly Mountain Pose Yoga sessions.
