Iglu Ski Announces New Partnership With Disability Snowsport UK

Iglu Ski has partnered with the UK’s leading adaptive snowsport charity, Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK), to raise funds to help disabled children and adults to be more active, make friends and have fun.

Iglu Ski was established in 1998 by ski fanatic Richard Downs, who is Chairman to this day. Iglu is the UK’s largest ski travel agency, offering over 200 ski resorts across 18 countries and three continents. An independent agent, Iglu offers unbiased advice to find the right winter sports holiday for every guest. Their website includes handy snow reports and snow forecasts. In their history Iglu has provided holidays for more than 400,000 skiers and boarders. Iglu is an ABTA-bonded travel agent selling ski accommodation and ATOL-bonded flight packages.

Iglu Ski provides the opportunity for customers to make a small contribution to DSUK at the time of booking, and invites browsers on their site to make a donation.

Established more than 40 years ago, Disability Snowsport UK offers inclusive skiing and snowboarding for everyone regardless of disability, injury or experience. They provide:

  • Expert adaptive teaching for individuals, families and groups across the UK;
  • Holidays and activities in the UK and worldwide;
  • Social and recreational skiing groups

CEO at Disability Snowsport UK, Virginia Anderson said, ‘DSUK is incredibly grateful for the support of Iglu Ski and their customers. There is much to be done to help the snowsport sector to include more disabled people. By supporting DSUK, Iglu Ski are helping a huge range of disabled people with a variety of life changing conditions to be able to build their fitness and confidence, and enjoy being part of the brilliant skiing and snowboarding community. It can be life changing.’

Josh McDonagh, one of DSUK’s sit skiers recently said, ‘Since first touching the snow with DSUK, they have encouraged me to pursue dreams I did not even realise I had. DSUK has shown me a whole new world on and off the slopes’.

Simon McIntyre, General Manager at Iglu Ski said, ‘The entire team at Iglu Ski is proud and excited to support DSUK, and to see more and more people on ski slopes, either in UK venues or in the mountains of Europe and beyond. Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy sport and nature, and whatever we can do to facilitate that, we will’.
