Helly Hansen Expands ULLR Freeride Collection With Professional Feedback For Superior Performance And Comfort

Global technical ski brand, Helly Hansen, has worked with ski professionals including ski patrollers and professional freeride skiers to develop new ULLR styles this season, specifically designed for maximum comfort and freeride performance – with the Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket and the Elevation Lifaloft Down Jacket.

An evolution of the award-winning Elevation Infinity Shell Jacket, the Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket features LIFA INFINITY PRO, Helly Hansen’s most innovative and responsible waterproof/breathable technology to date. The technology is built with a fully waterproof/breathable LIFA INFINITY membrane and durable water-repellent performance, achieved without the use of chemicals. Using LIFA technology, a proprietary Helly Hansen fibre that is lightweight and hydrophobic, the membrane is combined with 100% LIFA face fabric, creating a technology that delivers responsible and superior professional-grade performance.

Made with LIFA INFINITY PRO, the Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket meets the extreme waterproofness and breathability of HELLY TECH Professional construction – offering the highest level of protection for long days on the slopes. The brand’s revolutionary technology also guarantees everlasting water-repellent protection that never needs to be reproofed with chemical treatment after use, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.

This season, Helly Hansen’s designers were inspired by the idea that no one spends more time on the mountain than ski professionals, acknowledging that they’re hitting the slopes all season long, whether for work or play. With input from the ski patrol team at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort alongside professional US-based freeride skiers, Jim Ryan and Madison Rose, the design team finetuned the Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket to be even more comfortable and performance-driven than ever before.

With feedback from the professionals, the new jacket has been purposefully designed to be worn together with the Elevation Infinity Shell Bib Pant, and its powder skirt has been removed, delivering a superior fit, comfort and freedom of movement, ideal for freeride skiing. The jacket also features multiple storage pockets, adjustable cuffs and hem, mechanical ventilation zippers for added breathability, a RECCO reflector for added safety, a hi-vis hood brim and detailing for visibility, and a Life Pocket+ to keep phones running longer in cold environments.

Specifically designed as a layering option with the Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket, the Elevation Lifaloft Down Jacket is lightweight while maintaining durability, perfect for full days of freeride adventures. With a ripstop face fabric, the jacket is extremely resistant and delivers optimal performance on the mountain. The Elevation Lifaloft Down Jacket is also built with a hybrid of insulations, including Helly Hansen’s innovative lighter, warmer LIFALOFT insulation on the hem and cuffs and Allied® down insulation on the sleeves and torso, to provide optimal protection and warmth where needed. Due to synthetic insulation staying drier than down, LIFALOFT provides moisture management in the areas most exposed when working and skiing in deep powder, while the down insulation provides warmth where it’s needed most.

Designed as a layering piece, the Elevation Lifaloft Down Jacket also features elastic cuffs and, without a hood, the jacket provides less bulk for optimal comfort. With feedback from professional skier, Madison Rose, the chest pocket on the women’s style has also been specifically positioned to be lower on the chest to accommodate the female figure, while still being backpack and harness compatible. Additional features on both the men’s and women’s styles include a PFC-free DWR treatment for waterproofness and articulated sleeves for optimal mobility.

Louise Micolon, Product Manager for Ski at Helly Hansen, comments “We’re fortunate to work with a variety of ski professionals, whose insight and experience help us finetune our products to truly be the best on the market. With our new ULLR products this season, we wanted to provide our professionals with the best products to get the most out of the mountain even on their days off, and we’re excited to be launching these new styles for both ski professionals and enthusiasts alike in Winter 2023.”

The Elevation Infinity 3.0 Jacket and Elevation Lifaloft Down Jacket will be available in both men’s and women’s styles in-store and online starting in September 2023.
