Grand Opening Of The New 12-Seater Sky-line On The Zwölferkogel In Saalbach Hinterglemm Goes Ahead

After years of planning and intensive preparation, the new "12er Sky-Line" mountain bike trail on the Zwölferkogel was officially opened on Friday as part of the legendary GlemmRide Bike Festival. Also present was bike star Fabio Wibmer, who officially opened the trail together with the young "GlemmRiders" – the newly founded cycling club for children and young people from the region.

In the presence of numerous representatives from the Saalbach Hinterglemm cable cars and the tourist association, the new trail was unveiled as another highlight in Austria's largest biking region. The 12-seater Sky-Line was built by Shape Syndicate, and head shaper Roland Hofer was also present at the opening. With the expansion of the Zwölferkogel all the way to the top, a deliberately beginner-friendly offering was created – ideal for families, kids, and anyone who wants to rediscover mountain biking. The Zwölferkogel hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February 2025 and now symbolizes the successful transformation from a winter sports mecca to a year-round adventure destination.

The new bike route combines athletic adventure with breathtaking views and perfectly complements our existing trail offerings – a big thank you goes to everyone involved, especially the landowners who share this vision with us!" adds the management of the Hinterglemmer Bergbahnen.

The 6.5-kilometer trail starts in the upper section of the Zwölferkogel—one of the region's most impressive viewpoints—and leads downhill with numerous flowing berms, small jumps, and perfectly positioned curves. During the descent, bikers enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Glemmtal Valley and the Kitzbühel Alps.

The new "12er Learn to Ride Area" at the mid-station of the 12er KOGEL cable car also offers a special additional feature. Here, beginners and advanced skiers alike will find optimal conditions for improving technique, safety, and enjoyment in a playful way.

From summer 2025, the 12-seater Sky-Line will not only be a new fixture for trail lovers, but also a central component of "THE CHALLENGE," the challenge in Austria's largest biking region that only the best can master.
