GB Alpine Championships Return To Tignes In 2019

The Delancey GB Alpine Championships (formerly the British National Alpine Ski Championships) are back in Tignes, France in 2019 with action ready to get underway at the end of the month.

The Championships will commence on Sunday 31 March with racing continuing throughout the first two weeks in April. The National Championship and National Junior Championship races will run through to Sunday 7 April, with the GB Para Alpine Championships also taking place on 6-7 April.

The children’s week of races (U10 to U16) will then commence during the UK school-term break on Monday 8 April and continue through to the following Friday.

"We are delighted to be returning to the excellent resort of Tignes for the Delancey GB Alpine Championships 2019,” said Jamie Ritblat, founder and CEO of Delancey. “It makes us immensely proud to see British athletes in action and we look forward to watching the Alpine team compete in Tignes.

“We will also witness some of the best young talents in British snowsports during the Children's Champs, in what is an exciting, fun week for our young athletes. We hope you can join us in Tignes to cheer them on and experience this annual world-class British Alpine event.”

2019 also marks the fifth-straight time that the event will be in Tignes with the resort always improving the quality of the competition venue.

“The Stade in Val Claret has become the home of the Championships for most of the past decade and we couldn’t be happier to once again be back working with the wonderful crew in Tignes,” said Paul Trayner, GB Alpine Manager and Chief of Championships.

“We’re blessed with a venue which has recently invested heavily in their racing infrastructure, evidenced by the successful Europa Cup events which it hosted this season.

“There’s already been some really positive discussions about keeping Tignes as the home of the GB Alpine Championships in 2020 and beyond and I’m sure this year’s event will once again be a memorable one.”
