Former FIS Leader Sarah Lewis Launches Consultancy

Former FIS General Secretary Sarah Lewis has announced the launch of her own consultancy 'Sarah Lewis Global Sports Leader GmbH', with the objective of making society better through sport.

Sarah is a highly respected international sports federation leader who led the management of the International Ski Federation (FIS) for 22 years, as its Director and Secretary General until 2020.

Sarah will be be providing global advisory and leadership services, project management, communication strategy, governance policies, with other services including advisory roles and mentoring. Additionally, she has been invited to act as Non-Executive Director for a proposed investment company, and she is investing in and actively supporting award-winning start-up companies. A particular mention is her pro bono support of women’s candidacies for leadership positions which is especially important to her.

Sarah represented Great Britain at the Calgary 1988 Games in Alpine Skiing before embarking on a career in sports administration, initially within the ski industry and media before working for the national and international governing bodies.

She was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to sport during the Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, London by Her Majesty The Queen.

Speaking after the ceremony at Buckingham Palace, Sarah said, "The Investiture Ceremony is an extraordinary and uniquely British occasion, following century old traditions. To receive the honour from Her Majesty the Queen was particularly special and she commented on the popularity of skiing as a sport."

Named in the Queen’s New Year Honours List for 2018, the Honours List recognises the achievements and service of people from across the United Kingdom.
