Fischer Makes A Successful Start To Olympic Season

The Olympic season has gotten off to a promising start for Fischer: with Finland's Eduard Hallberg securing the company's first podium finish at the World Cup slalom in Levi, Fischer is making a strong statement in the world of sports. Numerous athletes are once again placing their trust in Fischer's quality and innovation strength this winter – especially in the Nordic disciplines, where the path to World Cup victory almost exclusively goes through Fischer.
As the last remaining genuine Austrian ski company, Fischer is a true family business: 100% of the shares are held by the Fischer family. The focus is clearly on ski hardware, with Fischer repeatedly impressing as a specialist through its innovations. This is also reflected in the ski test results for the coming season – Fischer once again has numerous test winners worldwide.
To ensure high quality standards, Fischer has invested approximately €10 million in its Ried site over the past two years, including in digital ski presses and a new product finishing line. The second production site in Mukachevo (Ukraine) is considered the most modern ski factory in the world and was rebuilt after a fire in 2020. Despite the geopolitical situation, production there continues to run smoothly. This production facility is also busy manufacturing high-quality ice hockey sticks, whose latest collection in the high-end segment has the potential to open up new markets.
Seven years after acquiring the prestigious ONE WAY pole brand and successfully relaunching it, the results are also positive. Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid, last year's overall Biathlon World Cup winner, recently chose the pole brand with its Nordic roots. The company's entry into the alpine market is also clearly evident, as confirmed by Eduard Hallberg's recent success.
“For the current fiscal year ending February 28th, 2026, Fischer expects sales of approximately €150 million, which corresponds to double-digit percentage growth. The alpine business in particular is performing very satisfactorily, and there are also signs of a recovery in the touring and cross-country segments,” says CEO Franz Föttinger, looking optimistically to the future. In any case, Fischer Sports appears to be poised for a rebound, and with an equity ratio of nearly 60%, the company is well positioned for the future. The number of employees has recently remained stable at 380 at the Ried location and 640 at other locations.
