FIS Staff Update December 2022


Since the start of the winter season, several new faces have joined the FIS team, while other familiar faces have moved onto new opportunities.

Below is an overview of the FIS team for the winter 2022-23 season.

  • Joining FIS in late October and early November was Lorena Robert, Finance and Human Resources Assistant. Renata Nadarkiewicz also started in the role of COC & FIS Cup Coordinator for Ski Jumping Women. In December, Lena Gafner joined the administration department as a Creditors Clerk.
  • The FIS Media and Marketing division also strengthened its ranks welcoming Oliver Quast as the Director of Legal & Business Affairs. Quast joined FIS at the start of December, moving into the role from the European Broadcast Union. Benjamin Stoll will join the FIS M&M team as the Director of Digital and Innovation on January 1st, coming from the same role at FIFA. FIS M&M also welcomed Nicola Niemeyer as an intern in mid-October.

While FIS is happy to welcome the new additions, at the same time it has said goodbye to some former team members.

  • Long-time Cross Country Race Director Pierre Mignerey left FIS to join the French Ski Federation. Former Head of Services Andy Wenger also left for a role at Swiss Olympic. Other departures in recent months include FIS Director Philippe Gueisbuhler who left FIS at the start of the season. Doris Weber, Assistant Finance, has also moved on from FIS.

FIS would like to wish all  former teammates the best of luck in their new challenges and heartily welcomes the new staff members.
