FIS Freestyle Junior World Champs Conclude In Chiesa In Valmalenco

The final day of action at the 2024 FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco unfurled under a brilliantly sunny sky, setting the stage for an unforgettable conclusion to the competition. The dual moguls event brought together the best young talents in freestyle skiing, showcasing their skill, determination, and flair in dozens of exhilarating matchups throughout the day.

The women's competition saw a remarkable performance from Kylie Kariotis of the United States, who, after narrowly missing the podium in the single moguls, clinched the gold medal in dual moguls. She edged out Anastassiya Gorodko of Kazakhstan, Junior World Champion in single moguls from the previous day, showcasing her ability to rise to the occasion on the biggest stages. The bronze medal was claimed by Yuma Taguchi of Japan, who secured her second bronze in two days by outperforming her teammate Marin Ito in a tightly contested small final.

On the men's side, Ikkei Fujimura of Japan was the standout performer, demonstrating remarkable consistency throughout the day. He first overcame Mateo Jeannesson of Great Britain, the previous day's singles event winner, in a gripping encounter, before triumphing over Daeyoon Jung of South Korea, the number one bib holder and runner-up in the singles event. Jung solidified his reputation as a formidable competitor, securing his second silver medal of the championships with his exceptional skiing. Meanwhile, Mateo Jeannesson added to his medal haul with a bronze in the duals, after a closely fought victory over Asher Michel.
