EnergyDirect: Hintertux Relies On Sustainable HVO100 Diesel
Climate change is noticeable in the Alps: the glaciers are shrinking and retreating. The Zillertal Glacier Railway faces the challenge of ensuring environmentally friendly and sustainable operations in order to preserve this unique natural environment for future generations.

The solution: switching to HVO100 diesel
To minimize CO2 emissions and find a sustainable alternative to conventional diesel, the Zillertal Glacier Lifts converted their entire vehicle fleet in June 2023. From snow groomers to company and employee cars – all vehicles are now powered by approximately 1 million liters of HVO100 per year.
