DSV Preparation For The World Cup Season: German National Cross-Country Team Trains In Schladming-Dachstein

Winter is approaching with big steps and from EAt the end of November, professional cross-country skiers can look forward to a full World Cup and World Championship program.

The German national team is currently preparing for the coming season in the Austrian region of Schladming-Dachstein. The DSV elite around team boss Peter Schlickenrieder uses the optimal conditions on the Dachstein glacier for extensive cross-country skiing training. Olympic champion Victoria Carl is also among the women.

"We are very pleased that we can welcome the German national cross-country skiing team back here in the region as part of their pre-season preparations," explained Mathias Schattleitner, Managing Director of the Schladming-Dachstein Tourist Association 
. "We have a great Nordic ski center here in Ramsau and can offer the perfect conditions for such training camps with excellent facilities. Thanks to the numerous training groups, we also create an important tourist activity in the off-season.”

The cross-country skiing region around Ramsau am Dachstein in Styria has long established itself as an absolute paradise for Nordic skiing. It is not for nothing that the Styrian town is known as the "training center of the world elite". The best athletes from all over the world compete here year after year, and many of them have already completed numerous jumps and kilometers of cross-country trails in Ramsau during the preparations for the season.

DSV team captain Peter Schlickenrieder is more than satisfied: "Our national cross-country skiing team has been coming to the Schladming-Dachstein region for decades and appreciates the top training conditions that are offered here - regardless of whether on the Dachstein glacier or in the many other indoor and outdoor sports facilities. In this way we create ideal preparation for the coming winter season with the highlight being the Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia.”

Up to 430 kilometers of trails and the longest glacier trail in the world

The Schladming-Dachstein holiday region can refer to a range of up to 430 km of cross-country ski runs. The sunny plateau of Ramsau am Dachstein, for example, not only offers perfectly groomed cross-country ski runs, but also numerous other highlights such as a children's cross-country ski park or laser biathlon. New this year is the trail called "Rittisberg 1500" on the Rittisberg. On the Dachstein glacier - the highest point in Styria - the longest glacier trails in the world extend amidst the breathtaking mountain scenery. The Ramsau and Hallstätter trails are already open there. Anyone looking for peace and relaxation is in good hands in the coming winter season on the valley trails in the region, such as in Donnersbachwald.
