Demaclenko Holds Open Day

DEMACLENKO recently held an open day in the new headquarters in Sterzing. In addition to exciting insights into day-to-day operations and the world of technical snow-making, a very special surprise awaited visitors: snow in September.

Almost exactly two years ago, in September 2019, DEMACLENKO's headquarters were relocated from Klausen to Sterzing. Since then, next to the HTI sister companies LEITNER and PRINOTH - in addition to cable cars and snow groomers - snow-making systems have also been produced at a single joint location. "In this way, we can further consolidate our pioneering role as the world's only full-service provider of winter sports technologies in a unique location and bundle the group's competencies, such as the spirit of innovation, in order to meet the requirements even faster and better," emphasizes Anton Seeber, HTI CEO.

The Open Day on September 17, 2021 was the perfect occasion to officially celebrate this milestone retrospectively and at the same time to allow the public a look behind the factory facades. Numerous delegations from national and international ski areas as well as representatives from the winter sports industry gathered in strict compliance with the applicable safety and hygiene measures. That is why the event was the perfect platform for professional exchange and for making new contacts. “We are very pleased about the great interest shown by customers and the international response. This strengthens our strategy of wanting to continue growing as a company.

The Open Day also offered visitors the opportunity to get to know the various areas of expertise at DEMACLENKO and the operational processes related to the planning and construction of turnkey snow-making systems up close. For this purpose, info points were placed throughout the production facility, where the various departments such as project management, the quality center, the automation and development department, the services, etc. were presented interactively. In addition, it was possible to look over the shoulder of the skilled workers when building snow guns, welding high-performance pipes for pumping stations or testing the machines. “We didn't just want to present our new company building, but our company as a whole. This also includes the faces, who stand behind the DEMACLENKO brand. The Open Day was the perfect opportunity to give insights into our processes and to exchange ideas with our team, ”emphasizes Andreas Lambacher, CEO of DEMACLENKO.

With WLP Systems, part of DEMACLENKO since 2020, the youngest member of the HTI family also presented itself to the audience at the Open Day. Specialized in water mist technology for disinfection, dust, odor and fire fighting, which are based on a principle similar to technical snowmaking, WLP Systems is expanding the group's portfolio with further innovative and future-oriented products.

In the outdoor area, the Snow4Ever 200, the latest snowmaker from DEMACLENKO, was a surprise for the guests: real snow was produced when the temperature was above zero. This new technology represents a true revolution: there is currently no comparable product that can produce snow with the same quality, efficiency and production volume at temperatures above freezing point.

Superlative has a new name: TITAN 4.0

When know-how that has matured over the years meets a thirst for progress and a pioneering spirit, maximum results are the logical consequence: With the new Titan 4.0, DEMACLENKO presents the snowmaking market with a snow gun that meets all requirements in terms of performance, technology and design and takes efficiency to a new level.

While the Ventus 4.0 broke all industry standards in 2017, DEMACLENKO is once again setting new standards on the snowmaking market with the Titan 4.0. As with the Ventus 4.0, the design was developed with the renowned Pininfarina design studio. The leitmotif: the perfect symbiosis of uncompromising functionality and user-friendliness with high-quality product design. This principle has now been perfected with the new Titan 4.0. Because the Titan 4.0 is not just a functional object of use, but a best-in-class product with character that arouses emotions.

UNBEATABLE PERFORMANCE

Titan 4.0 impresses with a maximum production volume of 120 m3 / h, a water throughput of 12 l / s and a throwing distance of over 80 m, making it the most powerful snow gun on the market. It is remarkable that the total power consumption could be reduced to only 23 kW. In total, the numerous improvements result in a considerable increase in efficiency of at least 10%.

FORWARD-LOOKING TECHNOLOGY

The increase in performance also resulted in an even better performance at marginal temperatures. A new geometry of the fan blades and a quieter compressor have reduced noise emissions. The Titan 4.0 is equipped with the latest DLC 4.0 power electronics as standard, which guarantees the availability of all operating data as well as predictive maintenance plans and diagnostics. This is where the tried and tested DEMACLENKO touch control terminal is used, which can be easily operated with any kind of gloves.

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN

Thanks to the clear and uniform lines, it has not only been possible to refine the product, but also to simplify it and make it even more user-friendly than its predecessor. Quick-release couplings guarantee uncomplicated opening of the machine and ensure easy access to the components. Since all sensors are positioned on the nozzle ring and on the water module unit, all maintenance-relevant parts are bundled in central locations and can therefore be easily checked. Overhanging parts and openings have been reduced to a minimum. The rounding of all edges and corners completes the harmonious overall look.

OPTIMAL TRANSPORTABILITY

The Titan 4.0 scores with its relatively low weight. Together with the compact design, this is particularly important for the safe and easy transport of the machine and also guarantees that it is airworthy by helicopter, even at great heights. In the case of mobile models, the firmly anchored and well-thought-out docking device also ensures comfortable transport with the snow groomer, even on steeper sections of the path. Thanks to the newly designed chassis, the extendable support feet can be adjusted even better, which makes it much easier to place the snow gun safely and easily in the terrain.

With Snow4Ever 200, DEMACLENKO, in cooperation with the 3CON company, presents an unprecedented solution for efficient and high-performance snowmaking at plus degrees. 

Snow4Ever 200 is the answer to the demand for perfect snowmaking above freezing point. The new snow gun from DEMACLENKO guarantees incomparable snow quality 365 days a year. The revolution in DEMACLENKO technology is that inside the system, regardless of the external climatic conditions and with significantly reduced energy consumption, real technical snow and no flake ice can be produced. With a production volume of 200 m³ per day, Snow4Ever 200 is therefore the most powerful, temperature-independent snowmaker on the market, whose snow does not differ in quality and structure from the snow of conventional snowmaking systems.

Another differentiating feature: For the production of the high-quality snow neither salt nor other chemical additives have to be added, only water and air are needed. In addition, the snow density and thus the snow quality can be set individually depending on the requirements. For example, adventure parks and event organizers can produce dry powder snow, whereas ski resort operators can produce compact snow on the slopes. The snowmaker decides at the push of a button about the quality that he wants to produce.

The innovative and patented technology also results in another decisive advantage: thanks to a mechanical de-icing solution, the machine components do not ice up and can therefore be operated without interruption. This completely eliminates waiting times and time-consuming de-icing operations. Thanks to the modular container design, the product can also be easily transported and used flexibly where it is needed. No special prior knowledge or experience is required to operate the product. The control takes place via the DEMACLENKO software Snowvisual 4.0, the guarantee for maximum user-friendliness and the clear breakdown of all important operating processes and data.

The Snow4Ever 200 can be used in a variety of ways. In addition to use in ski areas or winter sports centers, the product is also ideal for winter sports events such as cross-country skiing, biathlon, alpine skiing or ski jumping. Especially with the latter, the DEMACLENKO technology has proven itself, because flake ice is not suitable for the steep landing hills due to the lack of adhesion and would slide away. In addition, Snow4Ever is ideally used for snowmaking on glaciers as well as in indoor snowmaking and much more

The innovation was developed in cooperation with the company 3CON, international technology leader in the manufacture of high-end interior production systems for the automotive industry and its suppliers. With Snow4Ever 200, the company ventured into new territory, but was able to fall back on the in-house know-how that had matured over many years. Together with DEMACLENKO, a solution has been created that redefines the quality and efficiency of snowmaking at higher temperatures and sets the course for the future.

DEMACLENKO, a company of the HTI Group (LEITNER, POMA, PRINOTH, DEMACLENKO and LEITWIND), is sticking to the diversification course and is sending a courageous and positive signal in uncertain times. With the founding of WLP Systems, DEMACLENKO is expanding its portfolio with complementary products, which, like snow guns, are based on the know-how of water atomization in order to gain a foothold in the dust and odor control sector. So far, WLP has made a name for itself primarily in the sale of dust-binding systems that ensure quick and effective binding of dust in the work environment. The products are used, for example, on construction sites, in production halls, in tunnel construction or in landfills and guarantee more efficient work processes and the health of employees.

The company location of WLP Systems in Castelnuovo in Valsugana will also become the new DEMACLENKO service location for snowmaking. "The location of WLP Systems is strategically very important for us, as it allows us to be even closer to our customers in Trentino," says Martin Leitner, President of DEMACLENKO. "In addition, synergies and competencies from various business areas flow together and the area of ​​research and development is strengthened."

The last few months have already impressively demonstrated that new branches of business serve as door openers for new industries and enable the expansion of customer groups and market segments. The cooperation between DEMACLENKO and WLP began right at the beginning of the pandemic crisis: an efficient, fully automatic disinfection system with a special fan was developed in a very short time, which ensures fully automatic and complete disinfection of cable car cabins. At the same time, an innovative fire fighting turbine was also developed that can be used in numerous sectors for fire protection.
