Courchevel To Host Millet Everest Ultra Ski Touring - March 2 & 3, 2024

On March 2 and 3, a Himalayan wind will blow in Courchevel with the 3rd edition of the Ultra Ski Touring of Courchevel “Millet Everest”.

This event is aimed at seasoned and very endurance athletes, with the “main course” being a dizzying ascent of 9,000 m D+ on the Millet Ski Touring course (3.2 km / 500 m D+). Or 18 climbs (57.6 km / 9,000 m D+) in order to reach the equivalent of the altitude of the summit of Everest (8,849 m) starting from sea level, and this, within a time limit distributed.

To complete the adventure and push the concept to the extreme, the competitors will sleep in tents at the base camp set up on the snow front. The challenge will be carried out in 2 phases: the first day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. During these first 10 hours of racing, 5000m D+ must be covered to hope to continue the ascent the next day. And it's not over, because the challenge also consists of sleeping in a tent at the base camp at the foot of the ski jumps in Courchevel Le Praz, like on a real expedition.

After this bivouac at “Everest base camp”, the participants will leave on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. to complete the last 4,000 m in less than 8 hours and reach the roof of the world, Everest!

Program:
