Courchevel Promotes To Non Skiers

The resort of Courchevel is not just for skiers, on the contrary. With more than 50 activities on offer (sporting, cultural, relating to well-being or even artistic), the six villages of Courchevel can be discovered in different forms and from different angles.

Saint-Bon

Guided tours of Saint-Bon, in partnership with the FACIM foundation, invite visitors to immerse themselves in the past of one of the town's two historic villages. This is the opportunity to discover, for example, its church, which was built in the 17th century and which remains one of the jewels of Baroque art in Tarentaise, its typical alleys or even its holiday homes.  The new Little Heritage Guide, available at all Courchevel tourist offices, is the essential guide for discovering the town's religious, architectural and natural heritage.

Courchevel Le Praz

Swapping your skis for a pair of fins is the unusual experience that Courchevel Aventure offers with ice diving. A fascinating immersion in the icy waters of Lake Praz. It is the promise of living a unique moment of contemplation while admiring the play of light caused by the rays of the sun on the thick layer of ice, but also a dive into a dreamlike universe where a silence reigns as surprising as it is soothing.

Courchevel La Tania

This village nestled in the pine trees is a small preserved cocoon, a pedestrianized resort which is a delight for both skiers and non-skiers. Due to its location in the heart of nature, La Tania is the starting point for several snowshoe hikes, and in particular the Teppes circuit. A magnificent, uncrowded walk that climbs through the forest above the village. On the 4.5 km round trip, it takes 2 hours of hiking for 210m of vertical drop. It is the dream ride to relax in the middle of nature, enjoying the panorama of the Grand Bec and the valley.

Courchevel Village

Here, everything is close at hand, everything is centralized for optimal comfort in an intimate atmosphere. Thus, the Aquamotion water park is accessible on foot or by free shuttle from the center of the village. The Aquamotion center is a unique place in Europe. It is the largest aquatic center located in the mountains. 15,000 m2 entirely dedicated to sport and relaxation to the delight of skiers and non-skiers. Like Courchevel, it offers the best and most complete in terms of sports, fun and well-being.

Courchevel Moriond

Located on a balcony set back from the relief, the Courchevel Moriond sector is bathed in sunshine. It is the ideal place to discover cross-country skiing. With nearly 70 km of slopes , the Nordic area of Courchevel is a paradise for cross-country skiers of all levels, classic or skaters. Little more, it is accessible free of charge.

From Courchevel Moriond, the Boucle du Belvédère (5 km) is an easy and sunny slope for learning to Nordic skiing . After a start in the undergrowth via the Avals path, the track runs near the farms of Pralin at the foot of the Portetta massif.

Courchevel 1850

Combining art and mountains by creating an open-air museum, such is the objective of “Art at the top”. For 13 years, this astonishing exhibition has taken up residence in the heart of the resort and in the ski area.
This winter, skiers but also walkers will be able to admire monumental works by two French artists: Michel Bassompierre and Richard Orlinski.

For a complete artistic stroll, works by five international contemporary artists: Hom NGUYEN, Roberta CONI, Gabriel MORENO, Noé TWO, MATEO, are exhibited on nine large format tarpaulins arranged in the different villages of Courchevel. Finally, guided tours in partnership with the FACIM, will be organized every week to get a closer look at this unique exhibition at altitude.
