Corona Aid For Sud Tirol Ski Instructors Set

The criteria for Covid subsidies for ski instructors have been set: the state government approved them on September 14. The last submission deadline is October 29, 2021.
Ski instructors with significant income losses due to the epidemiological Covid-19 emergency can now apply for support measures. The state government decided on the guidelines for the applications at the suggestion of the regional councilor Arnold Schuler.
Requirements and contribution amount
Ski instructors who were unable to work in the 2020-2021 winter season due to the ski lifts being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic are entitled to the fees. They had to be entered in the professional directory on February 14, 2021. The amount of the contribution amounts to 40 percent of the income from the activity as a ski instructor and relates to the year 2018 or 2019 at the choice of the applicant. A minimum amount of 500 euros and a maximum of 7500 euros is paid out.
The funds come from the state aid package for winter sports areas (Fondo montagna), which comprises 800 million euros. As the responsible regional councilor Schuler had already announced, he was able to secure 4.7 million euros for South Tyrol in the negotiations at the state level. "The expenses for the ski instructor subsidies are estimated at 6.7 million euros", informs Schuler. The additional funds required will be guaranteed with the provision in the corresponding areas of responsibility of the state budget in 2021.
The applications must be made on a form provided by the tourism department and must be submitted to the department mentioned by October 29, 2021 at the latest via the State Chamber of Ski Instructors. Random checks will be carried out on at least six percent of the approved applications.
