Copper Mountain’s Union Peak Festival To Celebrate Music, Art And Sport

In its second year, Copper Mountain’s Union Peak Festival is taking summer celebrations to new heights. On Sept. 9-11, the three-day festival will close out the summer season in spectacular fashion, celebrating the convergence of community, sport and art, with three days of non-stop music, sports clinics, art demonstrations and more.

Union Peak Festival will feature free live music performances from X Ambassadors, Cold War Kids and AJR, as well as a weekend lineup of sports demonstrations and activations, making it the premiere event of the summer at the Athlete’s Mountain. Guests are encouraged to purchase a Full Weekend VIP pass for $400 per person to make the most of their festival experience.  

Headline Music Performances 

Music lovers are invited to Copper’s Center Village to take in main stage performances by well-known artists. X Ambassadors will kick off the headline performances on Friday night following an opening set from Jukebox the Ghost. Indie rock band Durry will open for Cold War Kids on Saturday. On Sunday, The Main Squeeze will perform ahead of AJR, the final headliner for the weekend. All music performances are free to attend. 

Festival VIP Passes 

Festivalgoers are encouraged to purchase a VIP pass for exclusive concert viewing access, deals on food and drinks and one-of-a-kind festival swag. A Full Weekend VIP pass is available for $400 per person and includes the following benefits: 

  • Exclusive front-of-stage viewing for all main stage performances 

  • Access to a VIP lounge and deck with a viewing area complete with complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available all day throughout the weekend

Guests who opt to lodge at Copper during the festival weekend can save $100 on a Full Weekend VIP pass. Lodging is available at Copper for as low as $122 per night. Festival Programming  

Union Peak Festival will bring together creative minded individuals and outdoor enthusiasts in a weekend of elevated pursuits. An art walk will be set along the village path complete with live art installations, artistic performances and acoustic tunes. Mountain sports devotees are invited to partake in sports demonstrations and outdoor meetups including golf skills clinics at Copper Creek Golf Course, morning yoga in Center Village, guided group mountain bike rides and fly fishing casting clinics.  

A weekend of athletic endeavors wouldn’t be complete without the Summit Up Trail Run, happening on Saturday morning. Runners are invited to challenge their high-altitude lung capacity with a running race on the mountain that will test even the most seasoned sprinter. The course will surpass an elevation of 11,000 ft and climb into the high-alpine on the mountain. Registration for the event is $10 and proceeds will benefit Team Summit and their ski and ride athletes. 

Guests will still be able to enjoy Copper’s variety of summer activities and programs throughout the weekend, including the 10 Barrel Backcountry Brew Pub on Saturday and access to mountain biking and hiking, the Rocky Mountain Coaster, Woodward WreckTangle, go-karts, zip line and more throughout the weekend.
