Copper Mountain Opens With 90 Acres Of Top-to-bottom Skiing And Riding,

Copper Mountain opened November 8 with more than 90 acres of terrain featuring skiing and riding for all ability levels. The American Eagle lift began turning at 9 a.m. and shortly thereafter the Easy Rider and Excelerator lifts.

Trails that opened Friday included Ptarmigan, Rhapsody, Main Vein, Fairplay and Easy Rider. Additionally, Lower Bouncer featured a Woodward Pop-Up park consisting of one jump and about a dozen features. Skiers and riders can look for more natural terrain to open as conditions allow.

It all kicked off at 9 a.m. on Friday with a first chair celebration at the American Eagle chairlift and 10 Barrel flannel shirts for the first 50 skiers and riders. In addition to the incredible early season conditions, Copper kicked off the season in style with Welcome Home Weekend festivities including complimentary parking in Alpine Lot, 2 for 1 Rocky Mountain Coaster rides out of Center Village, giveaways from Copper’s signature partners and more.

For those looking to après indoors with a cold craft beer in hand, Ten Mile Tavern gave away limited edition Pray for Snow candles to the first 150 people who purchased a 10 Barrel beer, limit one per customer, must be 21. Ten Mile Tavern’s Mug Club was on sale throughout the weekend with limited mugs inviting adults 21 and older to tap into dining specials, exclusive events, a member’s only swag bag and $1 off 10 Barrel beers all winter long.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, the newly refreshed Woodward Copper Barn reopened with the annual Barn Bash with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. Experience the indoor action sports paradise during this open house style event complete with free Intro and Drop In Sessions, plus giveaways, skate bowl expression session and more. Highlights included an autograph signing with pro skateboarder Phil Hansen and pro skier Lupe Hagearty as well as the Copper Mountain premiere of new movie “JOY, A Snowboard Film” featuring Ben Ferguson, Sage Kotsenburg and Red Gerard.

The winter edition of the new Copper Live music series kicked off Saturday afternoon with a free performance by Tea Leaf Green, a four-piece jam band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The tunes continued Sunday with a show by Chris Bauer Trio, a Summit County homegrown funky blues band.

Copper Live concerts will continue throughout the 2019-20 winter season encouraging guests to unbuckle their boots and enjoy free performances from a diverse array of up-and-coming musical entertainers. The next Copper Live is Snowsation presented by Nokian Tyres on Nov. 16 featuring A R I Z O N A, an alternative electropop trio from New Jersey, which recently released its second album ASYLUM featuring tracks “Nostalgic” and “Problems.”

To show Copper’s appreciation for military veterans, the resort offered $60 lift tickets on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11. The $60 discounted lift tickets are available for one day only to all skiers and riders and must be purchased online before midnight Monday.

Since October 25, Copper Mountain has hosted hundreds of ski racers as part of its robust training camp season. Copper is a proud supporter of athlete progression and due to the mountain’s aspect and elevation, is fortunate to offer world-class training venues early season for alpine disciplines, including the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, where elite athletes have been training since Nov. 3.
