Colourful Spectacle In Brixental At 33rd Edition Of Libro Ballon Cup

Colorful spectacle in Brixental

At the 33rd edition of the Libro Ballon Cup last week, the skies over the Brixen Valley were once again a colorful spectacle.

This typical colorful and happy picture is simply part of September in Brixental: countless hot-air balloons that transform the sky over Kirchberg, Brixen and Westendorf into a colorful sea of balloons. Also this year, as part of the 33rd edition of the Int. Libro Ballon Cups again 30 balloon teams from six nations in the air. However, since the wind alone determines the direction in the balloon flight, this year's edition was a little different than usual. Due to the weather, the event started later than planned and unfortunately without any competitions, and the popular Night of the Balloons and the Libro Children's Afternoon were postponed to Wednesday, September 21st.

Many locals and guests sniffed "balloon air"

All the more guests and locals took advantage of the unique opportunity to view the autumn landscape, which is so unique at the moment, with its rich colors and snow-capped peaks, from a bird's eye view during the public drives in the morning and evening. Under the direction of Irmgard Moser, a varied ballooning week was held in Brixen, Kirchberg and Westendorf: "This year it was a little different than usual, the weather conditions on the morning flights were very good, on the evening flights we always had extremely annoying east wind weather conditions, which are very difficult to drive. But the teams - this year for the first time we also had four female pilots at the start - are satisfied. And the great autumnal atmosphere, with the freshly sugared mountains, made the rides something very special," says Ballon Cup organizer Irmgard Moser.
