Claude-Alain Schmidhalter new OC President of the 2027 Ski World Championships

Claude-Alain Schmidhalter is the new President of the Organising Committee of the 2027 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Crans-Montana, succeeding Urs Lehmann.

Claude-Alain Schmidhalter has served as Vice President of Swiss-Ski since 2016. The Valais native has represented Swiss-Ski on the board of the World Championship Organizing Committee since Crans-Montana's successful candidacy; he now assumes the role of President within this committee.

As a representative of Swiss-Ski, Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder is also a new member of the eight-member World Championship Executive Board. She has been a member of the executive board of the Swiss snow sports umbrella organization since 2024.

The previous OC President Urs Lehmann left the Crans-Montana 2027 World Championship Board due to his move to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) as CEO.

With four members each from Crans-Montana/Valais and Swiss-Ski, the board of the organizing committee is composed equally as follows:
