SKI, SLOPES & SNOW

Located in Switzerland's Saint-Gotthard Massif, Andermatt Ski Area offers one of the largest ski areas in Europe, with over 180km of skiing accessible from Andermatt.

  • There are 65 marked pistes, served by 22 ski lifts which reach as high as 2,960m, assuring snow throughout the season.
  • The longest possible descent in Andermatt is 5km long and the most difficult run is the 'Gletscher Abfahrt'.
  • The Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski area also offers excellent opportunities for cross-country skiing, with a total of 28 kilometres of cross-country trails available in the Urseren valley.
  • In Realp, a 10-minute drive away, a special night-time trail even allows you to go cross-country skiing, under the floodlights, by night.
  • Ski Butler - The Chedi assures a seamless ski experience with its dedicated Winter Ski-Butler service which will prepare ski equipment, warm up ski boots, give tips on the ski area, and conveniently transport you to the slopes.
  • Ski Masterclass - Partnering up with HEAD, the Chedi offers an exclusive opportunity to enjoy an expert Ski Masterclass with Didier Cuche over 02nd - 03rd February, followed by a small group dinner in true Swiss chalet style.

WINTER ACTIVITIES

The Winter Village

  • Set to open in mid-November, The Chedi is once again transforming its courtyard into a whimsical winter wonderland, open to both hotel guests and resort visitors.
  • Cabins made using locally sourced wood, stand amidst snow-covered fir trees to provide boutique food and drink stalls offering traditional Swiss mountain specialities.
  • The Chalet, a traditional Scandinavian hut, is built around a fire-pit offering guests an intimate dining experience, whilst a heated lounge area accommodates up to 40 guests - the perfect spot to warm up over hot chocolate and cheesy truffle fondue after a long day on the slopes.
  • The Dome is a new addition to the Village, a 30sq/m area where guests can enjoy post-ski tipples during the day, and private dinners under star-lit skies at night.
  • The Village donates proceeds to Wald & Kima, a climate initiative that replants the potted fir trees from the Winter Village around the local area.
