Because artificial intelligence is conquering more and more areas of our lives, Austria Advertising is launching the first Austrian “AI” – an “Authentic Intelligence”. At “ChatSkiPT”, real ski instructors answer questions live about winter holidays and beyond. With their typical Austrian humor and their in-depth specialist knowledge, they convey the special flair of a winter holiday in Austria.

Artificial intelligence (AI or AI, Artificial Intelligence) is finding its way into more and more areas of life; AI is also being used to plan vacations. Tools like ChatGPT can provide valuable tips and well-founded information. But they haven't (yet?) mastered the typical Austrian insults. And there is also a residual risk of incorrect results and bad recommendations. Not least because vacations in Austria are about authentic experiences, Austria Advertising is relying on “Authentic Intelligence” – the knowledge and insults of real Austrian ski instructors – instead of “Artificial Intelligence” as part of a new marketing campaign.

“Winter holidays in Austria don’t just mean state-of-the-art ski infrastructure with over 23,000 hectares of slopes and over 2,600 ski lifts. What makes a holiday in Austria special are the authentic experiences and personal contacts. The conversations between the local population and the hosts and ski instructors. We at Austria Advertising are enthusiastic about technology and open to the possibilities and capabilities of artificial intelligence. On the website www.chatskipt.com, visitors write their questions in a chat window, analogous to ChatGPT. Instead of AI, 16 ski instructors from the Austrian ski regions answer. The experts provide in-depth specialist knowledge about skiing, reveal how to enjoy the Austrian winter and are happy to share a few words of wisdom. Chatting is possible from Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 to Saturday, January 20th, 2024 during fixed time windows. The chat is available in German and English. “With ChatSkiPT we are generating additional attention for the winter in Austria in addition to our regular, high-reach campaigns in Austria’s 12 most important foreign markets. In the 2022/23 winter season, winter sports athletes in Austria generated sales of 12.6 billion euros, which corresponds to direct and indirect added value of 6.7 billion euros. The campaign was created in collaboration with the Wien Nord Serviceplan agency, which has been the new lead agency for Österreichwerbung since last year.
