Canada Goose Will Open Its First Store In California

This fall, Canada Goose will open its first store in California, at the South Coast Plaza Mall, where it will house its first-ever Snow Room in the United States. Following a successful pop-up at The Grove in Los Angeles during the Winter of 2020, the brand is formally planting its Canadian roots in Southern California. Known around the world as a performance luxury essential, Canada Goose can be seen on city streets, mountain peaks and film sets, alike. The brand is bringing its expertise to South Coast Plaza, with a collection of quintessential products for the Californian – offering supreme functionality and protection for any adventure.

The Snow Room, the next generation of the brand’s award-winning Cold Room, simulates a snowstorm daily with temperatures reaching as low as -10°F. This innovation replicates various conditions for visitors to experience Canada Goose’s functionality and performance, inviting them to put its products to the ultimate test. The Snow Room’s environment is inspired by the climate of Churchill, Manitoba, best known as the Polar Bear capital of the world. Churchill is also home to long-time Canada Goose partner, Polar Bears International (PBI), the non-profit organization dedicated to advocacy and the worldwide conservation of polar bears and their habitats.

Canada Goose offers a variety of products that are the ideal companions for the West Coast lifestyle – including urban escapades and outdoor pursuits. The brand’s lightweight down jackets are an everyday essential, perfect for chasing sunsets in Malibu and hiking in Griffith Park. When the weather unexpectedly turns, rain jackets offer optimal protection in sun showers, drizzles and downpours, while its selection of knit sweaters, hoodies and zip-ups are fit for a casual, laid back look.

Fresh of the heels of the brand’s most recent collaboration with the NBA and Los Angeles-based RHUDE for All-Star Weekend 2021, South Coast Plaza will also carry the brand’s special collections and highly sought-after collaborations. Previous acclaimed Canada Goose collaborations have included Drake’s October’s Very Own (OVO), Vetements and Y/Project.

Canada Goose’s HUMANATURE platform is the driving force of its purpose to keep the planet cold and the people on it warm. HUMANATURE unites the brand’s sustainability and values-based initiatives, including its Sustainable Impact Strategy, philanthropic work and dedication to culture through the arts. Canada Goose continues to transform the way it does business and ensures its commitments are embedded across its operations, including its ambitious goals of achieving net zero carbon emissions, going plastic- free and integrating recycled and organic fibres into all of its products. The South Coast Plaza store is Canada Goose’s best physical representation of HUMANATURE, brought to life through exquisite artistry, as well as store and product design, with sustainability at the forefront.

Known for its celebration of Northern Canadian artists, Canada Goose proudly hosts the largest collection of Inuit art within a retail environment in the world. For this location, the brand is partnering with Toronto artist, Winnie Truong, and bringing her work to life in the space. Additional works of art by Inuit artisans, such as illustrations and sculptures, will be showcased throughout the store as part of the brand’s Northern Art Program. Each piece embodies the artistic narratives that encompass HUMANATURE because to be human is to be apart of nature.

Canada Goose operates over 25 stores around the world, each celebrating the company’s nearly 65-year history. Canada Goose products are also available online at www.canadagoose.com.
