Bogus Basin To Open Additional Terrain On Tuesday, December 26th

Bogus Basin announced today that additional terrain will open to skiers and snowboarders, providing top to bottom skiing, on Tuesday, December 26th. The following chairlifts will be open with limited grooming: Morning Star (Chairlift #2), Superior Express (Chairlift #3), Bitterroot (Chairlift #5) and Pine Creek Express (Chairlift #6). The newly opened terrain will favor primarily intermediate to expert skiers/riders. Additional snow is still needed to open the Deer Point Chairlift (#1) and Showcase Chairlift (#4).

“We are excited about getting more of the mountain open during the holiday season, and the forecast is calling for more storms,” said General Manager Brad Wilson.

“We’re eager to get the entire mountain fully up and running and are closely monitoring the conditions and weather.” Early season conditions exist, so guests are being cautioned to ski with care and to expect obstacles and thin spots, even on groomed trails.

The full price of $62 for full day alpine lift tickets goes into effect on December 26th. Half-day pricing begins at
1:00pm. The Pioneer Lodge will open for the season for full food & beverage service. Conditions and grooming are updated in the morning, go to bogusbasin.org for information.

The nonprofit recreation area, which is wrapping up its yearlong 75th Anniversary Celebration, also announced plans to host a fireworks show on the mountain on January 1st, New Year’s Day. The show will begin at
6:30pm, and will be visible from the Simplot base area. Music and other activities are also planned.
