Bogus Basin Announces Plans To Operate Coach Chairlift, Three Conveyor Lifts

Bogus Basin announced plans today to operate the Coach Chairlift, and three conveyor lifts: Explorer, Easy Rider, and Discovery this weekend. The Explorer Conveyor provides access to an adjacent terrain park, with approximately eight intermediate/advanced features. For beginners, the Mountain Experience team is building several pods of learn-to-ride terrain park features along the side of the Coach’s Corner trail.
Cooler temperatures in the region allowed the non-profit’s snowmaking team to convert nearly 6 million gallons of water into snow on the Coach’s Corner, Stewart’s Bowl, Morning Star, and Silver Queen trails over the past several days. These efforts will continue as conditions allow.
“Our Mountain Experience Team is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for early-season terrain parks, thanks to snowmaking and snow storage. We are stoked to welcome locals back this weekend to several fresh builds despite weather challenges.” said Corey McDonald, Mountain Programs & Events Manager
Terrain Based Learning
This weekend marks the launch of Terrain Based Learning at the recreation area. This industry leading program is designed to fast-track the learning process for skiing and snowboarding. Via self guided tutorials, or with the help of an instructor, guests progress through a series of gentle features such as rollers and banked turns for a fun, low-pressure learning experience. Terrain Based Learning stations will be accessible from the Discovery and Easy Rider conveyors throughout the season.
“Terrain Based Learning is a highly successful teaching methodology that guides new and novice guests through the fundamental body positions of skiing or snowboarding on specifically designed snow features.” addedAustin Smith, Director of Innovation and Marketing
