Beckenried-Emmetten - Roger Joss Keaves Klewenalp For Rigi

Roger Joss is moving from Bergbahnen Beckenried-Emmetten AG to Rigi Bahnen AG. Born in Bern, he is returning to the Queen of the Mountains.

The 49-year-old Joss was appointed managing director of Bergbahnen Beckenried-Emmetten AG in November 2017, where he started operating in April 2018. During the past 3 years, Joss has focused on the implementation of the strategy defined by the Board of Directors, the fundamental reorganization of the company, the development of marketing and online sales as well as the development of the Klewenalp-Stockhütte mountain range. “Thanks to the great support from the Board of Directors and a dedicated team, we have been able to steer the company's major operational challenges in a positive direction over the past few years,” says Joss with satisfaction. This can now be built on with a new person at the wheel.

Roger Joss leaves BBE AG at the latest by the end of October with a good feeling in the direction of Rigi: “Despite many unpopular measures, we were able to stay true to our line, implement various projects geared to the strategy and make BBE AG more professional and powerful overall. The Klewenalp will always remain my private local mountain, but in the last few months I have had a growing desire to use my positive energy more in international tourism than in local and mountain political issues".

Joss will bring his many years of experience in tourism to Rigi Bahnen as the person responsible for international sales in order to stimulate the target markets again after the corona pandemic. For Roger Joss, the start at Rigi Bahnen means a return, as he was already working at RB AG in sales / marketing / catering from mid-2012 to spring 2018 and was largely responsible for Rigi's upswing in international markets.

The company said: "The board of directors of BBE AG deeply regrets the departure of the managing director Roger Joss. However, they understand that after three years of intensive and exhausting restructuring and development work, Joss is taking the opportunity offered to tackle a new, challenging job with his previous employer. His personal commitment, the great work performance and the excellent cooperation with the board of directors are to be recognized. The trust that the company has been able to experience in recent years, despite extremely difficult framework conditions, is due in part to the enormous commitment of the departing managing director. Thanks to his great commitment, Roger Joss has significantly improved the company organization and brought it to a level that will give the successor a very good, even if it still enables challenging working and starting conditions. The Board of Directors thanks Roger Joss for his trust and his great performance in favor of the company. We wish him and his family all the best for the future, as well as a good start and good luck on the other side of the lake at the Rigibahnen.
