ASPENX & AETHER Unveil Limited-Edition Capsule Collection

The creator of the “Uniform of the Restless,” AETHER Apparel, and ASPENX, Aspen Skiing Company’s innovation brand focused on retail and experiences, have collaborated to launch ASPENX AETHER, a signature collection of outerwear, layers, and footwear inspired by high altitudes, snowy peaks, and an enthusiasm for winter.

With nine limited-edition styles and colorways for men and women, ASPENX AETHER marries the distinct attention to detail that AETHER is known for with ASPENX founder Paula Crown’s unique perspective.

AETHER and ASPENX collaborated to build a curated collection designed for those with a passion for travel, adventure, and the world-class mountain town of Aspen, Colorado.

ASPENX is a contemporary retail and experience brand unveiled in December of 2021. Conceptualized by artist Paula Crown, a member of the Crown family who owns Aspen Skiing Company, ASPENX leads with creative possibility. ASPENX features the first performance product line developed by a ski resort, informed by its expert on-mountain team for standards of excellence, comfort, and safety. In addition to collaborative ventures, ASPENX also offers bespoke retail, elevated rental equipment, and exceptional food and wine experiences both on- and off-mountain.

“I grew up skiing downhill during the winter and riding motorcycles uphill all summer in Aspen, so it has always been a home away from home for me,” says AETHER co-founder Palmer West. “Picking Aspen as our first mountain-town retail store, which we opened in 2015, makes this collaboration so much more meaningful for all of us. We are honored to partner with SkiCo and ASPENX to create this collaboration that speaks to both of our brands’ passion for all things winter. And the best part is that this is just the beginning—we look forward to growing the collection together in the years to come.”

“ASPENX was founded as an innovative brand with an emphasis on creative collaborations delivering products and experiences for our guests,” said ASPENX founder Paula Crown. “We are continuing to expand the offerings of ASPENX, which is Aspen multiplied with new ideas in experiences, product, and connection with our guests. The "X" is about new intersections. We share many core values and aesthetic perspectives with AETHER and are thrilled to work together in releasing this limited-edition line of apparel and footwear.”

The ASPENX AETHER collection is technically minded, designed to protect the wearer from the elements wherever they venture this season, without sacrificing style along the way. The collaboration, featuring a custom palette of colorways and designs, includes:

Pieces in the collection range in price from $325 to $525 and are available now in limited quantities online at aetherapparel.com and aspenx.com and in-store this fall at AETHER and ASPENX retail spaces in Aspen, CO.

AETHER (pronounced “ē-ther”) was started in 2009 when founders Palmer West and Jonah Smith were inspired to create something they couldn’t find. They were city dwellers with a passion for the outdoors, businessmen who wanted outerwear that supported their lifestyle without making them look like they were in a lift line. AETHER was born out of the desire for a men’s collection that looked at home in the city but was built to withstand the outdoors. Today, AETHER is a complete lifestyle collection for urban-dwelling, design-focused, well-traveled men and women. The company is headquartered on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, just blocks away from its flagship store on La Brea Avenue. Other retail locations include San Francisco, Aspen, Denver, and Jackson Hole.
