Aspen Snowmass Highlights Spring events

Aspen Snowmass has announced its line-up of spring events to wrap up the 2023-24 winter season, featuring a variety of activities for visitors and the community. The spring events include live concerts, night skiing, NASTAR National Championships, mountain closing day parties and more.   

Bud Light Mountain Challenge (17 March - 12 April)

On 17 March, the Bud Light Mountain Challenge returned to Snowmass, with four events taking place up to 12 April. All events are free with on-site registration:

  • 17 March – Ullrhof Games  
  • 29 March – Snow Fat Bike  
  • 5 April – Snow Golf  
  • 12 April – Axe Throwing 

Bud Light Spring Jam (21-24 March)

This week-long spring festival begins with the NEPSA Awards, followed by live music from the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series and KickAspen Night Skiing on Aspen Mountain, ending with Slash the Mass Banked Slalom Race on Snowmass.  

2024 NEPSA Photo & Short Film Awards (21 March)

Taking place at the Wheeler Opera House, the NESPA Awards will kick off Bud Light Spring Jam. Local and regional filmmakers and photographers will showcase their 2023-24 season submissions for judging by fans and viewers.  

Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series (22-23 March)

Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert series will conclude its winter concert series with two final performances on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March. Friday will feature headliner The Nude Party and Saturday will feature FRENSHIP. The free concerts will take place at the base of Aspen Mountain, starting with openers at 6:30pm followed by headliners at 8:30pm.

KickAspen Night Skiing (22-23 March)

On Aspen Mountain, skiers and riders can enjoy night laps on the Little Nell run from 7-10pm on 22 and 23 March. Tickets must be purchased in advance regardless of season pass status and all proceeds will be donated to Aspen Skiing Company’s community employee-led non-profits, the Environment Foundation and Caring for Community Fund.   

Slash the Mass Banked Slalom (24 March)

The 11th annual Slash the Mass Banked Slalom event will take place on 24 March at Snowmass, requiring a $40 (£32) entry fee with registration. The competition is open only to snowboarders and will be split into age divisions.

The Little Nell Chefs and Somms Series (20-23 March)

Chef Cédric Vongerichten and his wife Ochi will be featured next in the Chefs and Somms Series at The Little Nell for three days in March. Ochi’s birthplace of Jakarta inspired the vibrant flavours of their restaurant, Wayan, which brings an oasis of Balinese cuisine served family style to a “fast-paced, high-energy downtown” environment in New York. Join us in Aspen to experience this special pop-up. 

Mountain Closing Day Festivities 

All four mountains will feature closing day celebrations. For additional information, click here.  

  • Buttermilk - Bacon Appreciation Day: Buttermilk’s annual closing party, Bacon Appreciation Day, will take place on Sunday 31 March and will feature an assortment of bacon-themed items, food & drink specials, live DJ and a rail jam at the base of the terrain park. Closing day: 31 March. 
  • Aspen HighlandsAspen Highlands’ closing weekend will occur on both Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April and will include food and drink specials mid-mountain at the Merry-Go-Round. Sunday will also feature Mogul the Mechanical Bull at Merry-Go-Round. Closing day: 7 April. 
  • Snowmass - Elk Camp Surf & Snow Beach Party: Elk Camp restaurant will host the Elk Camp Surf & Snow Beach Party, featuring drink specials, live DJ and a pond skim on Saturday 13 April. Closing day: 14 April.
  • Aspen MountainThe final closing event of the season will take place on Sunday 21 April at the Sundeck and feature a live DJ and drink specials. Closing day: 21 April
