Arizona Snowbowl Opens Early For 2025–26 Winter Season

Thanks to a powerful storm, Arizona Snowbowl opened today at noon for the 2025–26 winter season, a day ahead of schedule. The resort has received 37 inches of snow since Sunday, with additional natural snowfall and snowmaking expected to continue through the week.
“This storm delivered a phenomenal jumpstart to our season, and opening early is an exciting way to welcome riders and skiers back to the mountain,” said Angie Grubb, Arizona Snowbowl marketing manager. “Snowbowl is known for long, reliable seasons, and the amount of snow we’ve received this week gives us incredible momentum heading into winter.”
Opening day terrain includes Spur Catwalk, Frontier, Lower Bowl, Log Jam, Wild Turkey, and Round Up, all serviced by the Arizona Gondola. At this time, the terrain is best suited for advanced skiers and riders. The resort will continue to open additional terrain and lifts as conditions allow. Guests are encouraged to check the snow report for the most up-to-date information.
Opening week celebrations will start tomorrow at 9 am at the base of the Arizona Gondola featuring complimentary donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, live music, and giveaways while supplies last. The Agassiz Lodge will open daily with food, beverages, and retail offerings, and the Hart Prairie Lodge will provide guest services and rental pickup.
Early-season conditions exist and with safety as a top priority, Arizona Snowbowl reminds all guests to know and follow the NSAA “Your Responsibility Code.”
After today’s early opening, Snowbowl is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late spring, weather permitting. Lift tickets for the 2025–26 season are on sale now, starting at $19 on select dates. The resort’s demand-based pricing model rewards guests who purchase early, while the Power Kids Pass continues to offer free, unlimited skiing for children 12 and under, with no purchase required and no blackout dates.
Following a record-setting 2024–25 season with 185 skiable days extending through June 1, Snowbowl enters the new season with nearly $1.5 million in capital improvements focused on forest health, terrain quality, and snowmaking. Upgrades near the Humphreys Chairlift will allow beginner and intermediate terrain to open earlier and stay open longer. Additional enhancements include a new rental fleet, expanded Wi-Fi, refreshed dining options, upgraded point-of-sale systems, and other mountain-wide improvements designed to create a smoother guest experience.
