Arena Asks “Green Energy In Ski Resorts - Is That Possible?”

More and more ski areas want to use green energy and take steps towards economic and ecological sustainability.

By investing in renewable energy sources and sustainable business practices, ski resorts aim to reduce their carbon footprint while saving costs and resources. A switch to sustainable mobility, as well as climate-friendly hotels and cuisine should also happen. The use of green energy would also improve the reputation of ski resorts and attract environmentally conscious customers.

Easier said than done! The initial challenges and investments in solar and wind energy, as well as the switch to climate-friendly hospitality and sustainable mobility, often seem daunting.

The first measures in the industry show that green energy is possible in ski areas. The basis for this is a well-founded strategy and a certain steadfastness in the event of initial stumbling blocks. However, those who are now switching to green energy are among the pioneers in developing sustainable business practices in the winter sports industry.

Our customers set a good example: Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See carried out an extensive sustainability study on the subject of "ecological slope management" in order to preserve the biodiversity on the green areas in the ski area. Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen AG is a pioneer in climate-neutral arrival and departure with free e-mobility offers.

Because one thing is certain: In the future, ski areas will be asked to face up to the environmental impact and make their contribution. This ensures that skiing will be preserved for future generations.
