Alta Badia Has All The Colours Of Autumn Outdoors

The months of September and October, with their incredibly intense and clear colours, represent a unique opportunity to experience the majestic Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 26th June 2009. There are two natural parks in the UNESCO site in Alta Badia:  Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez-Odle. The “Vire les Dolomites – Experience the Dolomites” offers a rich program in the month of September which focuses on the Dolomites declared "the more beautiful natural architecture in the world" by Le Corbusier, one of the most important contemporary architects. The initiatives range from conferences to concerts and guided excursions in the wilderness, which begin on Saturday, 1st September.  The entire program can be downloaded from the website www.altabadia.org<http://www.altabadia.org>

THE RICH “EXPLORE YOUR WAY!” PROGRAMME
Mountain enthusiasts can choose from a range of activities as part of the “Explore your way!” programme, depending on their personal passions. These activities are broken down into four categories. The “nature gym” category is based on activities such as running, trail running, geocaching, orienteering and speed-hiking, whereas the “rock your body” category includes rock climbing, free climbing, exploring, trekking and via ferratas. The “bike” category is dedicated to mountain bike enthusiasts, including bike touring, freeride, e-mtb and enduro. Last but not least, there’s the “flying” category dedicated to lovers of pure adrenaline, offering many possibilities for paragliding, hang gliding and slacklining.
Booking a stay at one of the “Explore your way!” accommodation facilities is perfect for anyone looking for a tailor-made holiday, based on their own requirements. These accommodation options allow you to enjoy everything that this programme has to offer. Each accommodation facility taking part in the initiative has its own “Explore your way” expert, who can advise guests on the wide range of activities available. The accommodation itself also offers two weekly guided activities of its own. Backpacks and walking sticks are provided free of charge for the individual activities, and constant support is guaranteed for lovers of active holidays.

THE SAN LEONARDO HORSE RIDE: THE 20TH EDITION OF CELEBRATIONS DEDICATED TO LADIN CULTURE AND TRADITION
The San Leonardo horse ride has reached its 20th edition and has a program full of events and initiatives lined up over the autumn months in Alta Badia. The stars of the event taking place on Sunday 4th November in the town of Badia are Noriker and Haflinger horses not only from Alta Badia, but from all over the South Tyrol region for the first time. The day begins with the Holy Mass celebrated in the parish church of San Leonardo. At 10:45, the parade begins led by the float dedicated to the patron saint, followed by the dean on horseback, the crown of flowers, the music band and the float carrying the products of the harvest to be sold at the end of the parade. All proceeds will go to families in need. Local bands will also play during the parade. You'll also get to see the traditional costumes of Val Badia and the surrounding valleys which are worn only on very special occasions, and several carriages and floats representing different alliances. Then, there is the most highly-awaited moment of the day: the blessing of the animals, the farmers and breeders. The “Horse and Music" show will take place at 12:45. Four Haflinger horses of the Maneggio Teresa stables will walk, trot and perform dressage to the songs of Abba performed by the Badia Music Band.
