Albertville White Festival Set For November 16-18, 2018

The Albertville Olympic Hall is proud to present the new "rendezvous" of winter.

  • La crème of freestyle skiing and snowboarding will be in Albertville from November 16th to 18th: Tanner Hall, Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Marie Martinod, Franck Bourgeois, Kevin Backstrom ….
  • Concerts will set the Olympic Hall on fire: Electro, rock and reggae with Para One, Rhino, Mike Rock and Mardjenal
  • Ticket already available

The White Festival celebrates skiing and snowboarding in a unique format, with a focus on all freestyle disciplines: big air, slopestyle, halfpipe and urban skiing. The best skiers and snowboarders in the world are expected and, for the first time, they will team up together as a duo.

The Olympic Hall takes the turn of the alternative disciplines by highlighting three Olympic freestyle disciplines: the slopestyle, the halfpipe and the big air. For three days, the Olympic Hall will be transformed into an indoor snowpark and the 40 best skiers and snowboarders of the world will present a show as impressive as it is original! Driven by winches, high-speed winches, the riders will rush through the Olympic Hall, to skip one of the many modules that make up the installation, to the rhythm of a light show and live music. All modules will be covered with snow produced on site. This will be the first time such an event is organized indoors! More than a show, the White Festival will also be a competition for riders, with a new format by team. They will have to show creativity and commitment to seduce the judges and win the competition.

The White Festival, it’s also concerts with a sharp and eclectic selection, freestyle initiation workshops for all, entertainment and a village of brands.

French halfpipe skier Marie Martinod, freshly retired, will be the godmother of the event ! She is a double Olympic Games silver medalist (2014, 2018), a multi-medal X Games medalist and several times winner of the Halfpipe World Cup standings. If Marie Martinod decided to hang up the skis at the end of the season, at 33, she is still very invested in promoting her sport. Because, from the beginning, Marie has expressed her wish to be part of the adventure of the White Festival. For her, Albertville and the Olympic Hall, it is a childhood memory that changed her life: the 1992 Olympic Games, the coronation of her idols in mogul skiing and freestyle skiing and her desire to "do the same."

"Albertville is part of my story. I was born and raised in the Valley, in La Plagne, I knew the Games of 1992 which opened me the way towards the freestyle. I am proud to contribute to this innovative event which, I hope, will seduce and inspire the new generation! "
