Action Outdoors Launch Over 60 Dedicated Off-Piste And Ski Touring Courses For The 2018-19 Winter Season

Action Outdoors has launched over forty off-piste courses in eleven resorts and more than twenty ski touring courses in six resorts in the French Alps for this winter. In total, there’s 5626 places available across UCPA for off-piste and ski touring courses alone from December 2018 to April 2019.

It’s more than they have offered before and reflects the growing popularity of off-piste skiing and ski touring with skiers and snowboarders travelling with Action Outdoors.

The courses are all held out of the UCPA centres in some of the largest resorts in France, with some of the ski touring courses also using mountain huts where required. The UCPA is a not for profit organisation that offers all-inclusive packages that include full board accommodation (in multi-share or twin rooms), lift passes, equipment hire and instruction or guiding included in the price.

There’s a range of courses to suit all ability levels, including the Introduction to Off-Piste Skiing course, available in several resorts, for skiers who are comfortable skiing red runs, up to a range of courses for experienced off-piste skiers such as the UCPA Ski Off-Piste Grand Traces Evasion, based in Serre Chevalier and the Ecrins National Park.

Action Outdoors Managing Director, David Robertson, said: “The range of off-piste and ski touring courses we run goes way beyond any other tour operator and whilst we have holidays for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, the opportunity for people to explore off-piste terrain whilst keeping costs to a sensible level, has proved very popular – hence the increase in courses on offer this winter. Anyone thinking about getting into off-piste skiing or touring right through to experts who would like professional guiding in unknown areas has a course on offer for them”.

Selected courses include:

  • UCPA Introduction to off-piste skiing, Flaine
  • UCPA Ski Off-Piste High Mountain – Expert, Argentiere:
  • UCPA Introduction to Ski Touring and Ski Off-Piste, Les Contamines
  • UCPA Ski Tour - Chamonix Zermatt Original Haute Route:
