‘My Serenity’ Programme Running In Val Thorens

Following the success of its My Serenity guide, Val Thorens continues to encourage its holidaymakers to adopt stress-combatting techniques under the umbrella of the My Val Thorens Serenity label. Val Thorens’ campaign rests on 3 pillars: training professionals and clients, distributing the My Serenity guide and establishing the My Val Thorens Serenity label to certify professionals who are committed to the project. Created by the resort in collaboration with doctor Philippe Rodet, a specialist in stress management and supervision, this label certifies the products, activities, approaches and experiences that contribute to lowering stress levels.

There are already 6 ‘happiness providers’ in the resort: ski Qi-Gong by Caroline Vincent, the Serenity Pass by Anita Thevenot, the La Camille ski touring run, the Alpen Art, Supernova, Le Refuge du Lou restaurants and children’s workshops. New activities will be labelled throughout the winter.

Trapper style: 55% of people feel more relaxed after walking their dog. It appears that the presence of a four-legged friend is beneficial for all family members, with pets even reducing parental stress levels. That’s why Arnaud offers sessions on energy and breathing with his husky dogs, every Fridays during the French school holidays. Information at the Val Thorens Tourist Office.

The My Serenity guide from the 5-star Pashmina hotel suggests a range of practical and achievable steps to adopt throughout your stay. As well as the staff’s considerate and detailed attention, hotel clients will also enjoy access to a wellbeing coach a wellbeing buffet and introductory ski touring sessions with hotel manager and Val Thorens local Cedric Gorini.

Ski Serenity session with Caroline Vincent: a practitioner of Chinese medicine, this Val Thorens French Ski School instructor divides her time between teaching and sessions that combine ski touring and Qi-Gong. In the afternoon she gives massages in her Val Thorens practice and is also running three new workshops themed around meditation and walking. A mountain enthusiast with a real love for wide open spaces she offers mindful ski touring sessions on the Val Thorens ski area, for a 100% relaxing holiday.

Ski Therapy:  the ski school has signed up to the My Serenity campaign and put several steps in place this winter: a cocooning welcome with tea, aroma diffusers, breathing exercises before and during lessons and ski therapy sessions, gentle learn to ski using breathing exercises to relieve stress and any anxiety you may have about the slopes.
