Protest Supports Active Adaptive - Unlimited movement, Boundless Possibilities.

Active Adaptive, a Belgian non-profit organisation founded in May 2024 by Kyra Visser and Nathalie Bergez, has been selected for the first quarter of 2025 within the Protest FUN(D). As a result, Active Adaptive will receive a one-off donation from Protest Sportswear to strengthen their mission: making sport and physical activity accessible to everyone, including people with physical, intellectual, or visual impairments, autism, or those who need extra support to participate.
Active Adaptive is a young non-profit organisation from Belgium, founded in May 2024 by Kyra Visser and Nathalie Bergez. Their mission is to make sport and movement accessible to everyone. This inclusive approach aligns perfectly with the mission of Protest Sportswear: to help everyone ride more.
They organize activities that are safe, fun and adapted to each person’s abilities. One of their main programmes is adaptive snow sports, like skiing and snowboarding with specialised equipment and expert guidance. Active Adaptive also works with schools, sports clubs and local organisations to raise awareness and make activities more accessible. Their goal is to bring people with and without disabilities together through sport and build a more inclusive future.
As part of the first quarter of 2025, Active Adaptive has been selected by the Protest FUN(D) to receive financial support. This donation will help them organize more inclusive activities, reach new participants, and invest in the equipment they need.
One of their current goals is to purchase a Tessier Tandem’Flex sit-ski by 2026. This advanced tandem ski makes it possible to offer children and adults with disabilities a full skiing experience – even when skiing independently is not (yet) an option. The Protest FUN(D) donation marks an important step toward making this investment a reality. As a small non- profit without structural funding, Active Adaptive depends on external support like sponsorships and donations to make such purchases possible.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from Protest,” says co-founder of Active Adaptive Kyra Visser. “As a young organisation, this contribution helps us move forward, grow faster, and bring adaptive sport experiences to more people. It shows that others believe in a more inclusive sports world too – and that gives us hope and motivation.”
This collaboration not only supports Active Adaptive in its mission but also helps raise awareness around the importance of inclusive sport and movement.
