Austrian Ski Fed' Signs Contract Extension With DB Schenker

One of the most successful partnerships of the last decades is being extended: DB Schenker and the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) are extending their cooperation until 2030. The continuation of the cooperation, which began in 2005, was signed on April 8, 2025, by ÖSV Sports Director Mario Stecher and Alexander Winter, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe, at DB Schenker in Vienna.
"For over 20 years, we have had a strong partner at our side in DB Schenker, one that responds reliably and flexibly to our high demands and on whom we can rely 100 percent in all competitions, both domestic and international. We are therefore delighted that we can continue this success story and count on DB Schenker's expertise over the next five years," says ÖSV Sports Director Mario Stecher .
"The athletes should not have to worry about transporting their equipment, but can concentrate fully on their performance. That is our credo and we have adhered to it for 20 years. We are very proud of this partnership and we are delighted that we will be able to actively support the ÖSV with our expertise as the official logistics partner in the coming years," said Mag. Alexander Winter, CEO of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe , on the occasion of the contract signing.
Since the beginning of the cooperation, DB Schenker has transported over 500 tons of equipment for the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) to races and training camps in virtually every corner of the world. In the past 2024/2025 season alone, the logistics expert accompanied Ski Austria athletes to national and international venues and training camps, from the Ski World Championships in Saalbach to the USA, Chile, and New Zealand, transporting a total volume of over 25 tons of ski equipment, such as ski bags, goal posts, workbenches, and ergometers, for the Ski Austria athletes.
The fact that DB Schenker has the right solution for all logistical challenges is also demonstrated by the ÖSV service trucks. For example, for biathlon, cross-country skiing and Nordic combined
Special service trucks were designed by the logistics expert to accompany the ÖSV teams to all European races and equipment tests. These innovative trucks cover approximately 15,000 kilometers across Europe each season and are equipped with their own workbenches, ski racks for more than 400 pairs of cross-country skis, and grinding machines to optimally meet the high demands of the top athletes.
Only through precise planning and exact coordination between the ÖSV experts and DB Schenker can the smooth transport of the equipment, weighing tons, to every venue worldwide be guaranteed. Flexibility is especially important, as races can be postponed or canceled due to external conditions. Thanks to its global network with employees at over 2,000 locations, DB Schenker can respond to these challenges as quickly as possible and adapt optimally to local conditions.
