Carezza To Open New Franzinbahn Cable Car For Winter 2025/2026

The Carezza ski area is one of the ski resorts that has seen the most investment and renovation in recent years. The new Franzin cable car, which will be operational next winter, completes a journey that has given new impetus and increased competitiveness to one of South Tyrol's most attractive areas.

The new facility will improve connections between existing ski areas, facilitate the transition from the Paolina – Karerpass ski area to the König Laurin – Welschnofen ski area, and thus enhance the overall experience for skiers. The new facility, built by Leitner, features state-of-the-art technologies to minimize consumption and maximize efficiency, such as the Leitpilot system. By replacing a surface lift, it will represent a significant advance in accessibility, especially for snowboarders and users with reduced mobility.

The new facility will also include the opening of a new toboggan run, offering a new complementary activity to skiing and appealing to a wider audience during the winter months.

"Our past and future investments follow the same vision. We want all our guests to enjoy sustainable, authentic, and high-quality winter experiences—and more. For this reason, we have focused and will continue to focus on technologically advanced, accessible, and well-connected slopes and facilities. Digitalization also allows our guests to enjoy tailor-made experiences," says Floran Eisath, Director of Carezza Dolomites, who aims to transform the area into an alpine "boutique resort": a small but high-quality destination.

"Carezza is a perfect example of the importance of investing in ski resorts," commented Valeria Ghezzi, President of ANEF. "Thanks to recent investments, the tourist destination has been completely renovated and is now more competitive. Not only can it offer a top-level skiing experience, but it has also laid the foundations for a more extensive and sustainable use even outside of the winter season."
